goal is to gain weight...

Post by deodorant »

I'm 6'5 and I weight 160... so yeah, I'm really skinny. I have a really fast metabolism so gaining weight for me isn't easy. I wanna build mass and get stronger but having build I have not found it easy.

So, what foods should I eat? I work in a meat department so getting different types of meat (if I even need them) shouldn't be hard.

What exercises should I do and how much?

I'm open to supplements as long as they can be mixed into a drink... no injection for me haha.

Thanks everyone!

You have very similar conditions to bf.

He overcame that issue by doing heavy lifting and drinking protein shakes and eating a lot of protein rich food. I think if you eat more than you need caloric intake I mean, but also take in more protein relatively, you will be able to gain muscle.

Let the experts correct me on this. That's what makes sense to me.
Good luck

I'm in the same situation as you, i'm 5'11 - 6' and i weigh 150 lbs  . I am making some gains but nothing astronomical yet. Although I can't speak from experience, I have done quite a bit of research. It boils down to: lift, eat and rest big and you will see big results. Listen to the dieting/lifting advice given here, its good stuff.

Thanks for the quick replies! :D

@nazzisoroush: Thanks for the input. I tried to record what I ate daily as far as calories/protein went but I found that it varied to much to get an accurate count... I guess I need to start eating on a regular schedule then.

@ywkma: That's a good idea for taking creatine... I tried a powder mix a while back and found it nearly impossible to get the clumps to break up. How often did you take it? I've heard people say take it for 3 weeks then stop for 3 weeks then again for 3 more and so on. But then again I've also heard of people not taking breaks from it...

@dys: Will do man... good luck to you!

Also... what is better: Lifting less with more reps or lifting more with less reps?

doederant - search the waterbury mthod by chad waterbury and do as written...also go to dioet section and read "read before posting..." but we'll just need to increase the cal's from it but the plan stays the same

ywkma - max sets, negatives, muscle splits...not great
