New to WorkingOut

Post by chaosspearxd »

Hello,im aj. i weigh 140pounds and im 5,5. I'm not that new to working out, over the past 6months ive been doing sit ups, push ups and lifting weights.

But, i wanna ask the pros on what they do to get buff. muscle mass has been increasing but i wanna kno what foods to eat, what workouts to do, and how many should i do of those workouts. usually in 1 day i lift 15pound weights 100times, 50situps and 50push ups. If you can give me any tips i would be really greatful, thanks!

well thats just a waste of time! why would you do anything 100 times? your just pissing hours of valuble time away! 15lbs is obviously way way way too light if your doing 100 reps. the general rule is that if you can do any exercise from the above for 20 perfect reps then you need to add more weight. what equipment have you got access to? what does you routine look like? for diet go to the diet section and read the "read before posting" sticky for tips in putting a meal plan together.

Instead of curling 15 lbs 100 times, you should curl 35 lbs 6 - 8 times. that is if you want bulk rather than tone.

if you can curl anything 100 times its not doing you anygood. it wont "tone" you. you might aswell juggle the dumbells....

if you can curl 35 lbs 6-8 times you should drop that and do bench press/rows (no bench lie on the ground). and if you can curl 35 for 8 reps, you SHOULD be able to bench/row 120+ pounds. if you can't, then you're on the wrong side of the tracks.

don't worry about push ups ans sit ups...you need a balanced program

search "your body is a barbell" by alwyn cosgrove and do x 4 weeks or so until we work through the progressions on it then we'll organise a wts program for you
