how to reduce weight?

Hi Guys,

I am a new member. I wish to reduce about 35 - 40 pounds in about 3 months. I am a veggie. eating schedule is as follows;

Breakfast - small bowl of Honey bunch of oats cereal with milk.
Lunch - veggie salad 2 days in a week. Wheat tortillas rest of the week.
Dinner - Wheat tortillas and fruit salad.

I run about 30 minutes every day at about 5 miles an hour speed covering 2.50 m on the treadmill and burn about 300 cal.

Can anyone give a better idea to reduce weight? I also need to reduce waistline.

(As was said your weight loss total is over ambitious. 2lbs a week would be 24lbs in 3 months. That's more likely, then you're looking at about 4.5 months to lose around 35lbs.)

(Good, but you could add more Protein, as said from things like Eggs, or Low Fat Cheese as examples.)

(Good choices, but don't skimp on calories if you are. Healthy is fine, but people who eat 110 calorie portions of Plant matter for examples are being counterproductive.)

Dinner - Wheat tortillas and fruit salad.

(You're being too dependant on the Tortillas I think. Also the Fruit salad won't digest properly mixed with the other food.

I recoomend you look into having things like Soy products, and also other things like Beans, Peas, Lentils, Nuts etc etc, as you can incorporate these into the diet. Veggie / Mushroom Stirfries, Omelettes, fake Pizzas with Whole-grain Bread, etc etc, you have plenty of options you can explore as a Vegetarian eater.

You need snacks as well. between meals. If you eat like you're doing you won't lose weight too well, as you need to be getting around 2,000 calories at least, especially if you're active.

You could be creating a situation where you actually gain weight, as Metabolism suffers, and becomes less effective.)

(Unfortunately you don't know you burn 300 calories, the display says that, you can't be sure, and you don't need to be doing Cardio 30 minutes a day, stick to 2-3 sessions a week, and add some weights in instead, to balance it out, so you're working out around 5 days a week.)

Vary your cardio. It seems you're running at a very static pace. Try incorporating some HIIT. You can do this on a treadmill but I prefer doing it outdoors.
