Fast Foods/Salads And Building Muscle

Post by jms_0013 »

I know, I know, Unhealthy right! Me personally, I really dont eat fast food but sometimes I get a craving for a nice big salad with chicken on it. Is there anything wrong with that? I mean ive looked up the nutritional info on salads and:

Theres a sufficient amount of calories; Needed for muscle building right?
Carbs: im still not really sure about carbs but i think they're good for energy
Proteins: Ive seen 30+ grams of protein; Cant get much better than that
And you can get the chicken grilled you know which i dont think is too bad for you.
Really, honestly im just really craving a nice big salad with some meat on it. And its really easy for me to get one during break at work
I was just wondering what you guys thought about it?

McDonalds offers some Newmans dressings in low calorie versions. Not too bad. But order the salad with grilled chicken and not with the fried chicken.

They offer "double chicken" at an extra cost and it will load up the salad with protein.

I go to the local Sam's Club and buy the aluminum 7" diameter trays with lids and pack own salads. salads are a good bit better than the fast food ones and taste better too. I get the small 2 ounce containers for the salad dressing too. The only problem is you end up eating in the car (although the local Starbucks never complain when I eat there and buy a container of coffee).

Even with dressing ... unless you are "cutting" 200kcals from fats and some salt won't kill you ...
