I'm doing a max of 7 chins in a row but after that I can do 4 the next set and its down hill from there. lol.
How many times a week do you do the chins?

Try doing your maximum number of reps the first workout of the week and 1/2 the number of reps for your second workout of the week. This will give your muscles more time to recover and you should be able to make more progress that way.

If you are doing chins three times a week, then repeat the 1/2 workout for the third workout.

In general, if you are not making progress with strength moves and you are training hard, then the culprit is lack of sufficient rest and recovery between hard training sessions.

Right now I'm doing chins 3 time a week and ive been doing each set to failure.. I'm definitely getting strength gains, ive doubled reps in 2 weeks... For some reason I feel that doing the low amount of reps overall is not beneficial so I push it to the limit.
