GOOD DAY EVERYBODY!!
I recently started doing pullups...but I suck... first set I can barely do 10 and then by the 2 and 3rd I can barely reach 6...what can I do to improve pull up?
thanks in advance
there's been a machine at all the gyms that i've seen that people usually use for assisted dips, but you can often use them as assisted pullups / chinups too. its like a little seat that you put your kness on, but in order for that you do need a gym membership.
if you don't have one, i'm not really sure what you can do. working your biceps would probably help. losing weight and working biceps is what i did at least to prepare for them.
First, let me state the obvious - Keep doing them. Once muscle memory kicks in you'll see nice gains.
In the meantime, there are two things you can do to speed up the process. One, after you do your normal routine, focus on the negative movement. Go down very slowly to build some strength and really get your body focused on the movement. Secondly, do a few sets where you don't go all the way down. Go about half way and pull back up - this is cheating, but will help you build faster. You should be able to do double what you're doing.
After you start to see some success, go back solely to the full range of motion. These tips are just to get you on the right track.
thanks for the info Fitcoach...as for goal with them is strength...both chin up and pull ups but I have more difficulty with pull ups...I get chin on first set over the bar but then I cant no more lol..I try but hardly get there.
I'm at the stage now of using a belt with a chain through a weight plate to add some resistance to increase pullups. First set 14reps without weight so I add say a 10kg plate with the belt between legs to add resistance back to that 8rep type area. thats with palm facing u pull ups full motion.
