No he's referring to bulking and cutting at the same time, not Weights and Cardio.ReeseBT wrote:whoever says you can't do both is retarded. do cardio or weight lifting one day and the other the next day. just alternate every day which you do.
Can't do both together, could bulk while maintaing similar Fat levels if you're already lean or lean-ish.
For cutting, could do that without too much muscle sacrifice, but if you're looking for about 10lbs more muscle, and 10% less Fat in the same timeframe, forget it, the body won't give you both at once, you'd need one as a goal, then the other as a secondary goal.
P.S. we don't discriminate against any potential retards here, we just educate them, so hopefully in the future they might become untarded

Re: need tips for getting ripped
Too early in your program to discuss "ripped". First you need to develop muscle mass in pleasing proportions.chad1234 wrote:i just started training about 2-3 weeks ago ...
Work to have a high protein, low fat diet with sufficient carbs for training.
After you have developed the basic physique you will be in a better position to make informed decisions on the way to get ripped.
How do I determine "body fat"?
I have a decent amount of muscle, nothing too intense. But I would like to be more cut. So I'm going to guess that if I lower body fat I will look more cut?
Also..
How does one go about lowering their body fat?
I remember when I was like 16 I had a 9.8% Body Fat. At least that's what memory serves..

to lower your body fat percentage you can either put on more muscle, but that will take much longer than simply burning fat.
i think it's 8-10% where most people can see their abs
there's a bunch of ways to measure your BMI. i think the best was called electrostatic weighing where they put you in a pull or something, but it sounds expense. i don't know how effective the other methods of calculation are though

The easiest way
I struggled for a long time trying to lose fat and gain muscle. After several years I found it is best to bulk and then cut.
Give your body what it needs (calories, protein, etc) To gain mass. Lift heavy and eat a lot. A little fat might occur from eating to much but not much if any.
Once you have gotten to the size you want then start to cut.
Of course when you cut you will lose a little size.
So if you want to start to gain again you do the same thing.
Its a never ending cycle, but its best to pick one then go for it. You are either gaining or you are losing. Its practically impossible for your body to do both. This is because..............hahah thats a long one for another time.
But pick one and stick to it
PS plateaus do occur but mainly from things such as age or an injury. You'll be able to get to the next level! Don't give up yet!
I wish you the best of luck in your fitness journey.

A lot happen from things like inadequate nutrition and poor training schedules too, probably moreso than the things you mentioned.BigChris wrote: PS plateaus do occur but mainly from things such as age or an injury.
