Hi all fitness freak people,
I have one query regarding the Skipping. I am doing skipping on regular basis as warm up activity. I do around 100 repetition per set and i do 3-4 such sets.
I do this on the hard n concrete surface. Does it going to harm joints. Some of friends are saying that it will harm in the long run. I also felt pain some time.
So please suggest me the to avoid this, as in what precaution i should take, use of Mattress, shoes etc etc.
Thanks

I used to do jump rope and I kept getting shin splints from them. A soft surface would be better, but who can jump rope on the beach?
You need a good bit of ceiling height to jump rope indoors. Most homes have just 8' of height so I think this is mostly an outdoors exercise.
Other than the shin splints (which affect very few people) I doubt that there is much risk to jumping rope on concrete. Inner city kids have been doing it for 100 years or so.
You could construct a floor with stringers to jump on outdoors but you'd have to move it out of the weather every time it rained.
To build a floor with stringers you need a 4' x 8' x 3/4" plywood sheet and 4l pieces of 2" x 2" x 8' lumber. Nail the 2" x 2" pieces to the bottom of the sheet of plywood on 16" centers.
Turn the sheet over so that the smooth side is up and go ahead and skip rope.
