Chin ups at home

Post by colins »

Hey!
How can I do wide grip chins up at home? I got a chin up bar that goes in a door frame but it's not wide enough to get a good grip. Any ideas/products out there?

Thanks!

If you have a basement, then hang a bar from the joists in the ceiling. It is a little low in most cases (most homes in the USA are 7' in the basement), but if you bend at the knees you can do full pullups like that.

If you cannot figure how to hang the bar, ask and I will attempt to describe it. (Or I will post an image of set up).

Thanks Packard, I was thinking about doing that actually... beams are a bit weird though so it might take a bit of work.

I'll post a photo over the weekend. It is quite simple. It only requires 4 small scraps of plywood and a few screws (and a bar).
