I pulled a trap muscle i think, might just be a pinched nerve but i doubt it. does extra protein help the recup process?

It sounds more like a muscle spasm than a muscle pull. I would doubt that these activities would cause a muscle pull.

I don't think you can resolve this with diet.

Does it feel tight like a stiff neck? If so, some gentle stretching will help loosen the muscles.

Once you have full range of motion back you will need to strengthen the muscles so that they do not spasm again.

(Note: Muscle spasms can be very painful and mimic muscle pulls. Often times an actual muscle pull will cause you to avoid working that muscle for an extended period of time, further weakening the muscles involved and creating a situation that would allow more muscle spasms.)

Not a doc, however, I pulled trap muscle this past August. Couldn't turn head side to side for weeks. Took 4 weeks of physical therapy and smart training to get range of motion in neck back. It totally sucked and no amount of protein helped. Rest, trained smarter and patience did the trick. Good luck :D

Ok I've been off for about a week due to this "spasm" or whatever. I lifted today for the first time since last week and was pretty happy with how much strength I had gained in time off. :D Anyways, everything feels better now... peace. PS. Thanks for the responses.
