ok to eat cat/dog food ?

Post by shugrblossm »

Is dog/cat food unhealthy for human consumption? The ingredients list "crude protein". What is that? Dog food has tons of protein in it.
What do you think??

Hard to take seriously. Who would want to eat dog food? Call the FDA and ask. http://www.fda.gov/

mom caught me eating dog food when I was a baby and almost puked! I honestly don't think anyone would be desperate enough for protein to go that far! Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it! I am sure it is labeled animal food for a reason

In all seriousness... I would think the protein in dog food is not necessarily the kind you would want in your diet. I believe the protein used in dog food/cat food is often obtain from scraps of meat and other sources that a human probably shouldn't consume. Interesting question though.... :)
