Hey guys, Long time since i've been on the site, but I said I'd only come back to tell you how I'm doing with routine/results etc. Since the last time i was on. I had a weight gain problem, and I am eating a lot more. Sometimes i force feed myself. But NOTHING happens, infact i've LOST 5 Lbs. which is bad for me, since i should be gaining that much in a month, I have no idea what to do anymore. I don't understand. Is there any supplements I can buy to help me gain more??? Please help this is getting really depressing.
yeah i think the most obvious solution would be trying weight gainers, but unfortunately if you've been skinny (which im assuming u are) for quite some time your metabolism may be through the roof by genetics. Fortunately, if your eating enough every 2 and a half to 3 hours, plus taking a weight gainer before you go to bed coupled with lifting intensely, u will definately gain weight. Remember, if u want to gain weight unfortunately u must eat and do NO cardio. just make sure your not putting on fat
definately no cardio...try having a wt gainer shake with healthy fats added half way through the night for an extra meal..justr set the alarm, keep by your bed, drink it and go back to sleep...maybe decrease activity a little so more cal's are used for recopvery and growth...post your program and food again
I would politey disagree about Cardio. Yes, Cardio might potentially burn some bodymass, and possibly sacrifice a little muscle growth, but he'll need to do it, to help maintain things like healthy Lungs and Heart, instead of relying on just Diet, and anaerobic weight lifting.
Otherwise he could end up in a situation, where he puts on some sold bulk, and gets tired too easily, because his Heart and Lungs are out of condition, and can't cope properly with another 20-40 lb's of Muscle.
I would suggest for him, he could do Cardio, but just do something easy like Flat level Exercise Bike, at a low level like level 2 or 3, and just don't exceed 20mph.
Then he can always do that for just 20 minutes, 3x a week, so then he's hardly going to end up about 1" smaller than desired, but he'll give his Respiratory, and Cardiovascular systems something to help them function alright.
I just think for anybody doing this sort of lifestyle, Cardio of any kind is a must. It just depends on your goals as to how much, how little, and how intensely you do it.
If he does zilch, he might feel some effects of that. when he's 50+.

The only reason the body burns cals is because muscle tissue is working...it doesn’t matter what activity you are doing, it’s muscular demand that determines cal burn. If you can run a mile in 19mins and swim a mile in 20mins and after a yr of swimming everyday and not running you decrease your swim time to 16mins, without running your running time won’t improve. This is because you only have 1 cardiovascular system. The only reason your cardio system was involved was because of the demands from the muscular system. You adapted to specific muscular demands of swimming which by default involves the cardio system not the other way around as most think. Muscles don’t move because of cardio demand, cardio is elevated because of muscular demand. You need to program the body on the movements it’s going to do, not based on the cardio system. Steady state cardio is low int and burns fewer cals and as you get better at it, it burns less cals so most go for longer instead of harder
