bad knee

Post by machogwapito »

I had surgery 3 years ago with knees and Dr put 3 screw in knees. i did some leg exercises and caused me some pain now for 1 week. went to the Dr to have it checked and advised me that not to do any running or put some stress in knees, because its swollen. ive been doing some weight lifting mostly upper body part, and im weighing 183 pounds (lost two pounds hehe) 5'10. imalso trying to quit smoking coz i know this habit is stupid. but i need u guys to point me to the right direction though, can i still lose some weight well, mostly im aiming to lose body fat, through weight lifting? how intense IS intense? and about diet. is planters peanut lightly salted good to be a snack? it has 300 calories... :(

No Peanut Butter is not that good as a snack, it's too fatty and probably lacks enough Protein.

You can lose weight, but it's going to be hard, and for the mean time, you I suggest if you even do any upper body work, you do it sitting down.

This means things like Pec Deck, Reverse Peck Deck, E-Z Bar Reverse Curls using a Preacher Bench, Inclined Hammer Curls, Bench Press, Cable Rows, Cable Chest Press, Chin-ups, Shoulder Press, those sorts of things.

Can't risk things like Deadlifts, Squats, Cleans, Bent over BB rows, as that's going to loadbear weight through the upper body onto the Knees.

As for lower body stuff, you're going to have to can that for now.

Bossman thank you for your time to reply to this message. i did what u wrote up there doing everything sitting down. i can still do a lillte of those lifts standing up but not a lot coz like u said, it really put stress on the knees. right now im focused on develping chest and bicep/tricep and the shoulders but if i keep on doin this ill look like retarded coz upper body is developed but the lower body is thin lol. again thanks again.
