not a great fan of sumo's, limited range of motion = overload/overuse injuries, ecspecially to the hip joint

do deads every wek i'll say and GM's for asistance work on the other lower body day

Don't listen to the calorie burner on the bike machine for any real type of accuracy. There are so many factors that go into what you burn other than your weight, distance, and speed (i.e. body composition, type of energy being used)

Personal preference is important. Don't understand how sumo deads limit range of motion but if you think so. I find them less stressfull on the knees and lower back than other variations. I also find that not only do they work the posterior chain as do other variations of deadlifts, but also the inner thigh area more than other variations.

Perhaps these are do to body type differences or perhaps form from one individual to another. Similar to those with longer legs tend to squat less and those with longer arms are usually not as efficient in bench press. BUT, like so many excercises, people tend to develop preferences do to enjoyment, personal results and comfort of the exercise. What is good for one person is not always the best for another.

Cheers

they can jam up the hip joint...strengthening the adductors (inner thigh) is not good for most people as they are alredy in anterior pelvic tilt so they are already tight and causing postural problems so we don't need them an tighter...sumo's are alright, but i'd only cycle in sparingly

yeh the cals on the monitor probs aint right, I just write it up n e way, I normally set a distance with th ex. bike and try and reach it asap, normally 1 and 1/2 minutes fast as i can go, 1 and 1/2 minutes or a bit less at a slower pace, then back up to full speed again, mayb i should just record times

ahh shit :( thats me screwed then, lol, arms and legs are real long. Na i kno its more down to the individual, but jus for knowledge is it jus cos the range of movement is longer, so a tall person has a harder time?

and Sumo's feel alrite to me, but they pull on the hams quite a bit, ill cycle mainly between normal deads and gm's and go sumo on the odd.

your levers (arms) are loner so mechanically they're harder but it doesn't mean you still can't be really strong at them

Yeh sry mate, i will just stick to the program. I read it on one of these forums a guy saying that you cud do bodyweight exercises on off days (I doubted this as surely ur muscles should rest) but just wanted to make sure.

Im in no rush either, im here for the long haul
