Just Joined the Gym need a program

Post by ezziriah »

I have about an hour at the gym everyday but,I really don't know what I need to be doing??? I'm 5ft 6 in tall and weigh 266. brother who workouts out there says I just need to walk every chance I get and I'd see alot of weight drop off. I'm tired of doing things halfway and failing. I desperately want to get back in shape! I have no idea how many calories I'm eating but i had been trying to do Weight Watchers but, doing it just seems to give me too much freedom. I need a program and I don't really have the $$$ to hire a personal trainer. I joined the local ymca and they have decent workout room nothing outstanding but its the only workout center in town. I've been walking everyday and doing various things that looks interesting in the weight room but,I want something I can know to do and stick to.

as much as it kills me to say this...

id try this *cough* waterbury method *cough*

read it all the way through...gives you exercises to choose from and change up so you wont get bored...and its planned out enough for you to have a foundation

plus try doing some cardio every few days to get your heart in shape

helps burn extra calories too =)

what just happened here?

anyway the WM is probably too advanced right now, you'll need to start with bodywt stuff to condition your joints for external loading/wts

what can you do exercise wise? lunges, push ups, inverted rows????

Well almost everything. I think I'm in pretty good shape to do anything but,I've never been able to do planks because of bad shoulder i had recvonstructive surgery on it about 10 yrs ago and its just not strong enough to do them. but, i can run if i want it maybe not be as long or as fast as ppl thats in shape but,i can do it. I can do push-ups squats. Its just not sure what i should do i need some sort of plan
