RED FACE

Post by sherrie »

Okay, I lifted weight for 30 minutes and I did 45 minutes on the elliptical machine, when I got off, face was as red as a beet, with the exception of the space around mouth??? I came home and fell asleep. body was aching. Is the redness normal. I mean when I say red, I mean red, red for at least 3 hours.

is it under the skin or not? if so than it may something about capillaries bursting?? anyone else know of this i'm not really sure...if just your whole face than it may have something to do with your body not being as good as cooling itself as it could be although i don't know how to improve that

Might possibly be different factors.

Could be the humidity of the gym, ventilation, your breathing technique, water intake.

It's possible you might be virally infected. Nothing serious, but could be a slight adverse reaction from a cold.

It may even be you worked out on an empty stomach, and your someone whos body doesn't appeciate that.

Obviously you know if you did that or not.

Has this happened before?

you might be not sweating enough maybe dehydrated, sunburnt or your breathing isn't right... if you are a girl it could be hormonal as well

i'd suggest you don't put make up before gym, you drink plenty of water, you eat well 1 to 2 hours before and aylso try to breath well without hyperventilating. try it and let us know how this works

This is called "exercise flushing" or facial vascular dilation. It's caused by the cardiovascular working harder which causes the release of lactic acid from the muscles. It's common when you work anaerobically (resistance exercise) and hold your breath. (Valsava maneuver). When the body becomes fatigued or stressed, the sympathetic nervous system is stimulated and causes vasoconstriction of the blood vessels.

Hope that helps.
