hip hop

Post by thekid24 »

what happened to hip-hop?

i know theres not much rap music fanatics out here but listeners in general, i wanna hear your take on hip hop's dumb down lyrics nowadays.

with artists like soulja boy, t-pain, lil mama and all these cats tryin to make money, all they put out are garbage songs with a dance package and not the lyrical stuff im so effin obsessed with!

i mean, whatever happened to poetry in hiphop? the metaphors? the story telling? i try to promote lyrical stuff really, and believe me, its hard! i always try and get some people to listen to some awesome stuff and you know, have them appreciate this stuff. i know its weird but theres only three things that im actually very passionate/interested about. Basketball. HipHop and pumping some iron :)

i know its the dumb record labels that try and make money that puts out these music but kids are eating this garbage up!

i mean come on! how many people wants to hear someone rap about how much MONEY they got, how many chicks they have with per week, what kind of CAR they drive in their hood and GUNS they carry?

cant wait for EMINEM's new album coming out man. jus tired of this bubblegum rap crap.

RAP CRAP!

Go old school man. Ya know like DMC, Beastie Boys, Fat Boys, Maestro Fresh Wes, etc. These kids pooring over the crap you're talking about are just drones. You want music then go metal, much better for you, lol.

Cheers

hm i know wut u sayin old school rules.... but im not much into TOO OLD school like run DMC and Beastie boys.

i like A LITTLE old school like Rakim, Krs-one, tupac and biggie.
and some newer stuff like eminem and nas. and some underground hiphop which is where most lyricists are.

lmao metal? u mean the loud stuff or the too much guitar solos w/o much subject matter? :)

Just put Ice, ice baby on MP3. Love Will Smith. :) Sugar Ray and Shaggy. For hip hop I love the Backstreet Boys, TLC and Nsync. :)
