I am slowly working way through the long pinned topic on diet/nutrition but in the meantime, I wanted to ask about detoxing
One of mom's friends does a regular every 6 months, I know theres multiple types out there/available and more than likely the majority are odd half-hits on something or other to do with nutritional needs
I admit to doing a short week (I think it was a variation on the cabbage soup one? can't stomach cabbage so variations are great imo), it was something I needed to force myself away from bad eating habits with some structure
Most of the people I found posting at the places with type diets and whatnot where looking for a quick way to lose a couple pounds...which many people would reply that detoxing is not a quick remedy to fit into that size ___ dress for your class reunion.
I found many sources of diets and what to do, and what they are meant to do - but who knows what is a legit or not?
I would like to give it another go, but I would prefer more information before I do...
I have not been in a consistent (more than 3xs a week) exercise program for a while, and would like to get back to where I was before some life experiences interrupted me - where would be the best place and way to insert a into diet/meal planning?
Does anyone have any recommendations as to a good diet plan?
Is there such a thing as a "power-" - just 2-3days of detoxing with specific food/nutritional supplements? (I remember hearing something like that, and was wondering if constructing a type of meal system like that during periods of time where I know I will be in a high stress environment and liable to binge, which is a crutch that I battle all the time it seems)...
detoxing?

honestly, follow the pinned article you are currently reading through, cardio 3x per week (interval training type) and full body weights 3x per week, opposite of cardio and 1 day off. Have one binge meal planned per week where you can have what you are most craving.
Stick to this and you won't need to at all. Your body will do what it needs to do!!
Cheers

Those kind of diets do more harm than good. Your body, if treated right does a fine job of detoxing all on it's own. Depriving your body of food and nutrition is not a good idea.

diets are unnecessary, and the ones like Isogenix, that rely on strange liquids and pills to help you are just plain expensive and silly, and the fact Monica Brant Peckham endorses it, is no kind of reccomendation at all, because it doesn't change what something like that is, which is a pointless, expensive and potentially unhealthy way to clean yourself out.

isnt supposed to be a weight loss tool - some companies just market it that way
it is supposed to cleanse your body of toxins - which everyone has
most diets you loose the weight from the excess food in your intestines - so once you start eating regularly you gain it back - thats why it will never work as weight loss

Good ways to yourself.
Increased Fibre.
More Water.
Natural laxatives like Figs and Prunes.
Senna.
Exercise and good diet.
No Vices.
Possibly cutting back a bit on Red meat.
Don't in drive in Urban areas with the car window open, breathing in fumes. Yes a bit radical but might help. Better still get a bus
