Can you help a BINGER?

Post by shugrblossm »

I was wondering if i could get some help from you.
how do you deal with cravings? do you ever find yurself binging on all the crap that taste so good but it terrible for you?
that's problem. no im not fat, yet (surprisingly not yet since i eat too much crap too often). im in shape, workout eat healthy most days 22 yrs/115lb/ 5'3. eat 5-6 small meals....do everything right but i have that little voice in head tht says "eat everything thats bad for you b/c it'll suck if your dead the next day and never got to enjoy that snickers bar (or fill in the blank) ANd most itmes i give in and binge like there's no tomorrw.
I hate it! I hate the way it makes me feel afterwards but that doesnt stop me from putting cookies in mouth.

it's not the fact whether i can burn in off or not. It's the facts that I feel that food rules life. I want to be healthy all the time. This binging is terrible for system.
dont get me wrong...i love healthy food. it taste great but so does icecream and everything in the snack isle. I rather eat pb and Jam or cereal for meals instead of a salad that taste like mud. How you make veggies taste good
What do you do. Can you help
thanks for your time

I totally get what you are saying! this past 2 weeks have been rough for me. Ive been pretty "bad" with eating habits. But What I tell myself is its taken some discipline and a bit of time to get to where I am at now, and I wont ruin it like this. YOU CONTROL WHAT GOES INTO YOUR MOUTH, FOOD SHOULDNT CONTROL YOU!
Think bout your goals, think bout how good it feels to look fit, or w/e...
If youre thinkin bout binging maybe call up a friend, find something to do, read some articles ANYTHING that will take your mind off of it. :D :D

As a motivation, take a picture of yourself from the back in a bathing suit.
Take a picture of a table full of all the crap food you crave.
Find or take a picture from behind the biggest, fattest woman you can find (especially if she's in a bathing suit)

Now on your bathroom mirror put your pic "+" pic of crap food "=" fat lady pic.

Also, don't keep that crap in the house for yourself or anyone else in the house. Don't shop hungry. Allow yourself one cheat meal a week.

Cheers

hmm, not exactly sure how much your eating of sweets and stuff - binging in mind is downing a whole chip bag yourself, finishing a 4 serving ice cream pail in one sitting...

cheat meals are a great way to cope - I used to set aside Sunday as one day a week ice cream bowl day =) made it all that much sweeter too...
binging is usually caused by boredom, emotional triggers, stress

Having a craving=time to sort your sock drawer
Do something, even if it means walking outside for 2-3mins - most of the time it doesn't take that long to get rid of

Drink water until you feel like its gonna come shooting out the other end, good old H2O never hurts - or coffee, although you could argue the problems that come with drinking excessive amounts of caffeine...I can't live or open eyes without coffee so I guess I'll die young

If you deprive yourself of a craving for a long time, and it becomes too overwhelming - allow yourself a spoonful (in regards to ice cream) - for a while I was regularly eating a bowl of ice cream everyday with lunch, now I haven't had any in over a month (thanks in large to the fact that we've found I am lactose intolerant), but I still get cravings, so I let myself take a bite...I have yet to go crazy and try to engulf the whole gallon with only face, seems to work good =P

Hee, hee. That will work. :) and I agree with keeping the crap out of the house. I will not get in the car, drive to the store to buy a cake. (most of the time) but I will march right out to the kitchen if I know it is there.

Not to sound rude, but if you'd posted this here, you shouldn't have messaged me about it as well, you should have done one or the other, because now I feel like I've responded to you, and basically gone behind other peoples backs.

Not trying to be rude as I say, just think you could have chosen either course of action, and I would have posted on here if you'd just done that.

Take care and best wishes :).

hun if you are still binging then you aren't eating right. cravings usually mean that your diet is lacking something, usually protein. please take all of the information given to you by BossMan and USE IT. I have been where you are and finally got control of it because I figured out what I should be doing and doing it RIGHT. Best wishes love!

JNicole2009,

Starting to get some nice definition through the back hun. You still looking at fitness modelling or the 1/2 marathon you were talking about a bit ago?

Jnicole, Doing well, just hit a personal lifetime best in Bench :) 270 lbs 3 reps. I'm reaching that 300 lbs goal. working weight on bench is approaching 250 lbs. Squats and Deads are increasing as well although still need alot more weight on them, not quite at 300 with those yet. (shouldn't have ignored the lower body when I was younger). Oh well it will come.

Choosing a tat ain't easy, especially for someone else. Perhaps you should design it yourself and if you are not artistic, then have someone design it for you.

Cheers, and keep pushing!
