cardio first or weights first?

Post by bc11 »

I do cardio and weights 4-5 days a week on the same day. I have been doing 30 minutes of cardio, then 30 minutes of weights. I have read that weights should come first, then cardio. workout program has worked for me, but will switching this around enhance what I've done? I start at 5:00am every morning and really don't eat anything before workout. Will this affect whether I should do either first? Some good advice would be appreciated.

its probably better to do cardio and weights on different days ie:

mon-weights

tue-cardio

wed-weights

thu- cardio

fri-weights

sat-cardio

sun-rest

but if your adamant on doing both then defo do weights first, the thinking being your not tiring urself out with cardio which will then effect your lifts afterwards!
as for not eating anything beforehand, u really gotta get some food in u b4 u start workin out ,especially as its in the morning you exercise!
hope this was helpfull! :D
p.s make breakie as big as u can it will set u up 4 the day!

if you lift weights first...you wont have your maximum amount of energy to expend doing cardio...so you wont improve your most on that

whatever one is more important to your goal is what you should do first

I do weights first, you will expend energy there, and then cardio. Cardio is important to me, but may not be to you. It depends on what you are trying to get out of your workout.

' really don't eat anything before workout.'
- As has been said, yea you gotta eat before your workout. Gotta have that energy/ fuel to burn when doing those weights. Feed the machine I guess you could say. Then after weights you should be sweet for cardio with food digested so you won't get a stitch heh.
Just personal thought.

I always eat before I workout, unless I'm in last 6 weeks of training. Then I do cardio on an empty stomach. Off season, Eat, weight train, cardio. Then protein powder and waxymaize/w glutamine peptide.
