Deadlifting Newb
To be honest i've never deadlifted as i've always been afraid to hurt back, or put up an embarassingly low weight. I just wanted to know what you guys think i could do for weight so i don't put way too much, or way too little at first :p. I bench 4 sets of 6-7 reps of 120, can do 3 sets of 25 dips, can do bent over dumbell rows with 55 lbs (3x10 method or 8x3), can do 3x7 chinups. I'm not sure what else is relevant but i weigh 140ish and i'm 5'11. last weigh in was before i was trying to bulk up though. thanks in advance.

Don't be afraid, deadlift is safer than squat for back.
For the correct weight to use you gotta try. Do sets of 3, if it wasen't hard enough then increase weight and do another 3 reps until you find the heavy spot, where your forth rep would be your maximum. From there you can build up your strength slowly and make huge mass gains.
You got questions or you are still afraid, well ask and share we can help you

hey
bench press really isnt relevant to a deadlift but if your weighing at 140 and benching 120 7 times ur not weak...
if it feels like your straining your lower back then it either is weak and is straining or your arching your back...if your doing a traditional deadlift your actually going to feel alot of the work being done in your legs
when i first started deadlifting lower back was WEAK...i actually started doing good mornings, partial deadlifts, rows, everything i could to strengthen the back...but remember like i said your legs will do alot of the work so squats and leg presses can help ALOT...
back gained strength quick...u didnt list and lower body stats but ur upper body seems solid...i would suggest trying to get a few reps in with 2 plates 135 pounds would probably be a nice pull for ya
just remember...bend those knees and hips...not ur back...
