I don't like Creatine...
But it seems like a lot of whey powder and protein bars have it in there.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

No it's from Bossman, the source I don't know, usualy Boss is a source himself lol. And yes it is 180+HOUSTON TEXAN wrote:I got that from you a while ago....it may have been 180 + can't remember.swanso5 wrote:where did this "170pds+" thing come from?
i'm not that heavy but does mean i shouldn't use it? i wouldn't really anyway and i don't
The only reason I've stated that figure of 170lbs + is because it's an approximate figure.
Creatine is consumed in about 2g daily from Meat and fish, you can also have Creatinine, (the toxic byproduct), in your system, a normal amount for men being 0.6-1.2 nanograms per decilitre of Blood, and 10ng / dl + being toxic.
People who are heavier and stronger than others will generally get better results off Creatine, becasue they will have more natural power, so the power increase will be higher.
I used Creatine before years ago, and did the usual thing, by loading, then taking 5g a day, but I did do 5g maintenance doses when I got up, and not after workouts, because I thought having a dose first thing would be easier to remember.
results were not great, and I felt I'd wasted money for approximately 5lbs of extra lifting ability, and a few reps on some things. Dosing after workouts might have yielded slightly better resutls, but I feel they wouldn't have justified the money.
I concluded over the years, that if you're going to get good results, a good minimum mass level would be at least 170lbs approximately, because the person is going to have at least 16" Arms probably, better power and strength obviously, and get at least half way decent results, relating to a power increase.
Someone who gets 15lbs of extra Bench press, might feel some way justified by doing it, but if they get something like 6 or 8, they might not, and even with a good diet, good training and 6-12 months experience, you might not be powerful and strong enough for Creatine to provide good power based results.
The simple fact is as already stated, more strength related weight, should create more power, and therefore better power based results off Creatine.
It's not me saying you must be at least 170lbs to get half decent results, as it might be the case, that someone who weighs 168 could too, but I just use a minimum figure of 170lbs + personally, to simplify things.
Creatine and Kidney stones, well it's plausible, but that would be likely to occur if anything from either crappy water intake, or overdosing on it, I.E doing silly things like 30g a day, for example.
You could however cause Hematuria, which is blood in the Urine, or Red Blood Cells, (Erythrocites), in the Urine, which if so, could indicate something like Kidney Stones, but I can't say conclusively Creatine can cause Kidney Stones.

Well some people will, I mean it depends on the individual, but the case is, a 155lb person who's 17, and has been lifting 6 months, won't get the same lifting results compared to someone who's bene lifting 6 years and weighs 190. They just won't.
Creatine will provide some result, unless the person is a non-responder, (I believe a few people who take it an be), so yes some result can be gained, especially from the Phosphate conversion, but reality is, it depends on things like lean mass, lifting experience, diet and training type, as to whether results are good, unsatisfactory, or even if Creatine is worth it for the individual at all, at that point in time.
It helped you to some exent, but then possible factors like Diet, changes in training etc etc, could have been assisting with the bulk of the results, and Creatine could have added a small edge to results. That is something neither you and I will ever really know, but you probably are solid enough to get results off it that justify the money.
Many people often aren't. I wasn't, and many think it's the answer when their results fall flat after 3-6 months, usually Creatine or Steroids are some kids salvation supposedly
, and often it's diet, training or both, that need attention.
