Start with full body workout or split?

Post by blablabla »

Hi,

I've just started exercising (I started this week with the dumbbell weekly routine, since dumbbells are the only things I have access to (http://www.shapefit.com/workout-questio ... kouts.html)). But since there is nothing for Abs, Shoulders, Neck,.. I have been looking for another routine.

Now at one place I read beginners should start with a fullbody routine, while elsewhere, I read you have to do a split routine. So this leaves me confused, and would like your input on this matter.

Thanks.

Fullbody works better in opinion.

Go for 2 sets per muscle, really light, for 6-10 reps.

Do it 3 x a wwek, on alternate days, and then increase weight slightly each week, until you're more or less maxing after 4-6 weeks.

Gives the body time to adapt to the biomechanics of lifting.

Ok, thanks, both of you. I will start off with the 'your body is a barbell', probably with some small adjustments.
