Body Like Theirs

Post by AfroJedii »

I'm a big movie junkie and two of favorite idols are Vin Diesel and The Rock. Question is, how do I get big and tone like those guys? Is it more of a dietary thing or mainly the rest and workouts?

I want to gain more mass, (I'm pretty solid now but defiantly not as muscular as I would like) but I eventually plan of learning a martial art so not too much mass. In eyes the ideal shape to be is like Vin Diesel and The Rock. What should I focus on for the next year or so? (Will it even take that long?)

The Rock is (was) an athlete. His specific body type and genetics helped lead him to his physique. You only have your own body to work with, so rather than focus on looking like a particular athlete, why not just train just like one?
"In other words, you could devote your life to hard work, physical training, overcoming adversity on a daily basis, mastering a physical discipline, and learning to delay immediate gratification for long-term growth. This is the life of an athlete, and no matter what your personal potential happens to be, it is entirely within your power to live this lifestyle." - Charles Staley

If you wanted the Rocks look, you'd have to juice. Not necessarily a good way to go.

the rock only juiced a little in college for football...nothing replaces hard work, discipline and consistency

The Rock almost certainly Juiced in WWE. There's no way that kind of mass and Cuts is natural. HHH probably did too, and apparently in recent years so I hear, Vince Mcmahon, the decrepeit aging fart who runs WWE, got really jacked and that's obvious how.

I'd stake 99.9% odds, even if he doesn't juice now, he did in WWE, because I wouldnt' be suprised if WWE doesn't test anybody.

But, enough hard work would overide one's genetics... right?

Maybe The Rock and Vin Diesel are not good examples. They are genetically blessed. What about Toby Mcguire pumping up for Spiderman. What about all the dudes in 300 (Serious mass and cut). I have seen the 300 workout online. UNBELIEVABLE. Is that type of intensity, effort and dedication necessary?

I read a few articles about that...turns out that "workout" was pretty much just a test/challenge from Mark Twight their trainer to do 1 time, which 17 of them actually completed. Its not something they did regularly at all...and the man who played Leonidas also hired some Venezuelan bodybuilder to help him get that look. Its those guys jobs to look that diesel...take LL Cool J for example. Was a really pudgy guy until he got focused AND hired a top hollywood trainer to put him through hell whenever he was not on set. I'd agree a comparison to less genetically freakish guys like Toby Mcguire or Christian Bale might help.
