hello hubby told me that weight training is better than cardio alone.
i go to gym just to do cardio. and i thought that was the only way to lose fat and weights are to give you that definition you want. and to make it show cardio to lose fat.
does this make sence or am i way off?
which is better

Hey Kristy80-
Cardio is great for burning calories but training with weights (resistance) will build the much needed lean muscle mass which will kick start your metabolism and burn calories all day long (even at rest). Studies have estimated that for each pound of muscle that you add to your body, you burn an additional 35 to 50 calories per day. So, an extra 10 pounds of muscle will burn approximately 350 to 500 calories a day, or an extra pound of fat every 7 to 10 days, without making any other changes. That's the beauty of training with weights and really being able to create a lean physique.
Next time you're at the gym, just take a look around you when you're doing cardio. Are most of the people kind of "skinny-fat"? Are they skinny with a little bit of a pot or a little flabby? Now, look at the people in the weight area who are training and look at their physiques. You will see many more people who are truly lean, toned and well muscled. The best advice I can give you is to burn the candle at both ends. Make sure to train with weights to build lean muscle, eat a clean diet to fuel yourself and do cardio to burn off the extra calories. This is one of the best plans to follow for amazing results!
Best of luck to you!

slufoot is on the money. Not sure what type of cardio you're doing but if your not doing it, try high intensity intervals with sprinting being the best. Try for 5 - 10 sets of 50 - 100 meters just make the distance as far as you can go at top speed. If you start to slow down at 70 meter mark and trying for 90 meters, stop at 70. Go fior intensity rather than distance or volume
Weight training is essential! Not only will teh weights get you toned and sleek looking, the physiological benes are astounding. In college I did research on osteoporosis and found that resistance training with weights not only reduced the risk, but in cases reversed it all together. You can still get cardio benes as well from strength training. Try circuit training or do set of 25-30 reps and reep the benefits!
