Question about protein shakes

Post by tia_ga »

hi im a female and i read the "read before posting.." section and it says i should have protein shakes (which are optional)
i wanted to know:
does this apply to females? im a bit scared to take whey protein shakes because i feel like i could get fatter/bigger or bulk which is not what i am looking for. (looking for weight loss)

also, are there restrictions in the amount or specific kind women should take?

please, if someone could clarify that it would be greatly appreciated...thank you!!

the shake in the morning is optional, the shake after training is manditory

protein shakes don;t make you big or every 16 year old on the planet would be huge...too many cal's and not enbough exercise makes you fat

1 scoop each go is fine

when you train intensely you break muscle down and ther protein shake build sit back up as well as solid protein had in the following meals but the liquid digests straight away so your muscles are reovering straight away which they need to do

Just look for a product that contains 100% whey isolate. Check the nutrition label and make sure it has very little carbohydrate, usually under 5g. Don't get confused with whey and some protein powders that are meant to be used as weight gainers, such as meal replacement powders.
Ingesting more protein is the best thing you can do to help you lose some fluff and gain muscle.

I would say you might be better, using a Powder with Carbs. Just make sure you don't have too much. I.E. if it say 4 sccops for a serving, just take 2, or 2 scoops per serving take 1.

You still need some Carbs to help recover muscle Glycogen, and increase Bloodsugar.

Although if you choose one without Carbs, you need to have a bit of Carb afterwards, like some Oats, or a Piece of Whole-grain Bread and Honey, something like that, just so you get your energy reserves back up a bit better / quicker.
