Anabolic diet
I was wondering if anyone has tried the Anabolic diet and if they could give me some information on it. is it a good diet? did you see results?
It's not a diet as much as a lifestyle. If you are an advanced bodybuilder or working on that as a goal, it can be very useful. Because if that describes you, then you will be prepared to deal with the shitty low carb headaches and be able to re-feed without totally blowing the whole week. You will also be prepared to gain 8-10 lbs each weekend of glycogen and water, and know how to train for depletion over the next 5 days to see lean gains.
If that does not describe you, and you have concerns about carb intake, look into carb cycling. Carbs are not the enemy of lean gains or fat loss, the timing and type of carbs are.

I have never rated Carb Cycling that much. I understand the basics, but frankly I think the body can adapt all it wants to diet, but consistent diet I think works better for some, as you can get a good diet that works, it's easier to plan and manage, and you'll get results anyway.
They say the Metabolim doesn't adapt, but that's good for it to be consitent, if you keep upping and lowering your Carbs, you might be causing your Metabolism a few issues, whereas good Metabolism, and Thyroid function might be better maintained from a regular calorie intake.
I'm also not happy about them shoving blatent reminders about their products in their literature. That really bugs me, and also their Surge product contains about 4-5 things I'm not 100% sure about, and if most people have to Google half the ingredients, to check what they are and if they're 100% safe, that makes the product very annoying indeed.
Needless to say I think the Metabolism is better served in opinion, with a regular controlled calorie intake, Carbs included. The body has things like a Hypothalamus and a Thyroid to regulate Metabolism, so you don't have to with Carb cycling. That to me is just confusing your bodies inbuilt mechanisms, which might not necessarily be beneficial in the "long-term"

I understand what you are saying but the blatant reminders sell the products that pay for the operation of the forum and the paychecks of the writers/althletes and contributors. It's a pretty fair trade considering the amount that they publish.Boss Man wrote:

Surge is a good product, although it's not rocket science and I'm pretty convinced that a malto tab in whey is going to give pretty much the same thing.
In fact, lately I am questioning the need for liquid carbs right after training. I am finding that 10 grams post/pre/peri training of BCAAs and just plain whey immediately afterwards is fine, as long as I can follow up with a solid meal within an hour or so. I've been using that protocol for the past 4 weeks, with damn hard training 4 sessions a week, plus 2-2 hour training sessions of certification coaching and cardio/GPP fit in there too. Recovery has been much better with the addition of BCAAs, and I am finding I'd rather eat carbs.

Dunno. They seem to absorb fine without. I eat about an hour or so before and an hour or so after training.
it's better of you can afford it but don't BCAA's absorb better with carbs?
70 bucks for a big tub of powder and it will last at this rate about 3 months. I take 30g 4 times a week, and another 10-20g if I just do cardio, which isn't much these days. Has the same ratio as the other brands and the Biotest tabs that I compared them to.
Recovery has been very good, and these days R&R is a top priority because the between work, training and certification drills I am booked solid. I feel the BCAAs are doing more for me then whey with carbs ever did.
