push ups - you can elevate your feet on bench, then a ball...then keep raiseing your feet untill your doing handstand push ups...can do with 1 hand on a medicene ball, db etc...db grip push ups are good for wrist stability...sliding towell push ups are pretty hard...plyometric push ups are also good but save for later at this stage (clap push ups
crunches - make sure your hip flexors aren't taking over during the crunches and the abs are doing all the work...i don't any crunches purse but rather core movements that use most of the muscles such as 1 db side bends, wood chops etc
Thanks for your tips Swano! I had a busy week last week. Missed one cardio workout . House guests for the weekend took me off meal plan .
Climbed back on the wagon yesterday.
Hey Swano!!Checking in!!! Hope you had a good week. I have been working hard at the gym the last couple of weeks. Lifting heavier weights and interval cardio. ( 3 days weights 3 days cardio..one day rest) I have noticed changes in body shape and strength. I did not follow food plan as well as I could have. I measured myself on the "new body fat scale"...it was two weeks from first readings.
Oct.22
142.5 total 31.0% fat 45% water = 44.1 pds fat 64.88 pds water
33.45 pds muscle
Nov.5
144.5 total 31.5% fat 45.5 water = 44.7 pds fat 63.4 pds water
36.4 pds muscle
It would appear that I have gained some muscle and not really lost any fat. That is good news cause I can see that workouts are right on but I still have to watch calories. I knew I was eating crappy the last couple of weeks. sweet tooth was getting the better of me. I am inspired by the muscle increase though. 3 pounds of new muscle sounds a little high though???? I will need a few more weeks and a few more readings to get a better idea of the values.
Thanks for your guidance

Wow it sounds like you are doing great! I wish I was in your kind of shape. I hear you on the sweet tooth.. isnt it awful? Espec' since it was just Halloween that hasn't helped! I'm going to try your idea with sticking to 6 small meals a day and see how that goes for me too. Good luck!

I know Halloween is a killer!! I am doing better this week and managing to avoid candy so far. Ity is only Wednesday morning though.lol
I cannot take credit for the "6 meal" idea.lol It is a popular eating plan at the moment. I have adopted Swano's advice when it comes to what to eat . Meal 1 fruit prtien as example. I am sure you have read his eating tips if you have read through any threads. I have added carbs to meal 1.I eat steel cut oats every morning and a big peice of wholegrain bread.I feel better doing heavier workouts on a ' full" .
I seem to crave less sugar when I avoid coffee too. That is another hard one for me.
How are you making out? How much weight are you wanting to lose?
