i have two questions that hopefully i can get a little more understanding on the first question is i have read a few diffrent web sites that say you can drink ptotein shakes at diffrent times during the day sometimes in the place of a snack so as to reach your protein count for the day so what im asking is it ok to drink a shake more than the one time post workout.. second question is i have read that a shake can be made diffrent ways with water or with milk with fruit, without, like a smoothie i have read if you make it with milk it takes time to disolve in your system can you tell me what the best way to make it would be.

here's take on it...
everything i write here is for "optimal" benifits meaning it's not 1000% essentail that you do it, but for the most benefit, it is so again here's take:
i only advise protein shakes at the following times (in order of preference)
1 - straight after training
2 - before training (ecspecially in the morning with fruit)
3 - a 1/2 serve added onto breakfast
all other times solid protein should be consumed
solid food is best for metabolism and they have a shit load more nutrients in them than shakes do, plus they are more filling amoungst other things
i have mine with water straight after training then have some cereal straight after that...milk does absorb slower than water yes buy i have milk with cereal so that's why i have milk, not the absorption rate
