I eat rice as a component of one of meals almost everyday. It probably amounts to about a cup a day. Is this doing more bad than good? Are the carbs in rice negative? I run 4 or 5 miles about 3 times a week.
Are you talking white rice or brown rice? Brown rice is a very good choice. White rice is not exactly optimal.
Do you mean you eat a cup cooked, or is that a raw measure?

Rice, whether white or brown is a complex carbohydrate and provide the body with energy. Brown rice has more fiber than white which makes it a better choice in that sense. There are no "negative" carbs, there are just different types that are metabolized at a different rate in the body.
