well you're body gets 6 looks at the one stimulis (workout) before it catches on going like this;
workouts 1 - 2: shocks the body and where soreness will probably occur
workouts 3 - 4: strength increases and soreness subsides
workouts 5 - 6: hypertrophy increases are seen as the body starts to get used to the stimulis
new program and start again
