I'm 16 & have had anorexia for 5 years. I am nearly at target weight, which is 86% of ideal weight. I think this should allow me to run at full potential again, & I have been eating healthily for about a month now. I feel more energized in myself but I am still feeling so lethargic when I run & I can't go far without feeling faint, it's ridiculous because I am eating! Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.
Chloe.
your body might not be able to process food efficiently enough yet maybe...
if you had it for 5 yrs it will take a long time to get back in the game, ecspecially your metabolism which was probably completely wrecked...just keep consistent and you'll get there
You could trying gradually increasing fitness levels thusly, as an example.
Week 1. Walk at a moderate pace for 2 mins 30 seconds, then jog for 30 seconds. Repeat for until you reach 24 minutes, then add another 3 minutes of walking to slow the Heart down. so 27 in total
Do this 5 times a week, but don't do the sessions back to back, split them so you never do more than 3 back to back.
Week 2. Walk at a moderate pace for 2 mins 20 seconds, then jog for 40 seconds. Repeat for about 24 minutes, with 3 minutes walking at the end.
Week 3. Walk at a moderate pace for 2 mins 10 seconds, then jog for 50 seconds. Repeat for about 24 minutes with 3 minutes walking at the end.
You should by this point, see a pattern to the way the Cardio changes each week.
You should hopefully then be able in time, to increase fitness to a point where you get 24 unbroken minues of jogging, with the 3 minutes cooldown, then add another 3 minutes jogging a week.
So by then you're doing 30, then 33, then 36, plus obviously the cooldown.
So you're slowly allowing your body, to gradually increase its ability week by week.
