Front Squats vs Back Squats

Post by artoni »

Hi
For the past few weeks I have been doing squatts twice per week. Recently I started switching routine, front squatts one day and on the next leg day I would do back squatts.
Someone from the gym told me that for maximum growth I should do both (front and back) the same day. I did that but I wasnt able to do as much although I felt like legs were gonna explode.
Should I keep on doing what I am doing or is that a bad idea?

Thank you

Okay, if you have a 2xupper/2xlower workout I would suggest to do something like :

Deadlifts
(your other compounds, but less heavy lower body move here)

Upper Body training

Squat (Back one time, front the other, If you don't like back to front, it works leg even better than back one)
(your other compounds, but less heavy lower body move here)

Upper Body Training.

If you want more examples/explanation about anything just ask.

But don't do two "big moves" in one day ... it's like doing squat, deads and
plyo on same days, overkill ...

both on the same day isnlt really worth it as the wt you'd be using would be way less than if you done them on separte days

Hey guys
The only reason I decided to do so was because I thought it will make them grow and also I dont get sore on legs and I wanted to push it a little further.
I want the front quads to get big as well. What I usually do is:

Front Squat
Back Squat
Leg Extensions
Leg Curls

After I do this for a month or 6 weeks I usually drop one of the exercises and I replace it with lunges.

legs over training for nothing ... I never did more than one or two "leg" exercises per workout, never more than 4 workout a week and I have big legs for 8 months of serious training ...

Big legs will come from correct training and diet ...

if you wanna get big than extensions and curls are the opposite of what you want...yes add lunges in

legs won't get real sore as your distributing the stress over a larbe muscle mass...soreness isn't needed anyway
