Our legislation was so bored that they made it mandatory for all high school students to take a fitness test. At first this sounds like a good idea but let me tell you what the test consists of.

-10 Pushups

-10 Situps

-Run/Walk a mile in 20 minutes.

What a joke! This is seriously such a waste of class time.

how many can actually do 10 perfect push ups though? look it's not much but it's better than nothing...we don't have any physical education in most of our schools anymore...oh and we're also going through an obese epidemic as a nation so that was a quality move...i went to schol for the sport

Better than nothing I agree.

Plus it means they don't have to buy any equipment, and then have parents complaining that little Franklin can't get a decent education, because nasty old Principle Fartface, spends money on steps, balls, and bands, but can't afford things like Science and Maths textbooks, and therefore American teenagers, will become a nation of ripped and buff Burger flippers until they're 65.

Or something like that.

At least this is a cheap and easy thing and better than nothing.

Oh but it gets worse, I found out from teacher that if you fail, the only thing that happens to you is they send a letter to your parents home telling them you may need to start exercising. Obviously if your kid can't go a mile in 20 minutes you probably already know as a parent your kid has a problem.
