EATING for better abs?

Post by FeeFee »

Hey guys, been a while.....please help me with this. so, I have changed how I eat, and have seriously begun to hit the gym after being unavoidably unable to go for about 2-3 months ---I am already seeing progress with weight loss, but abs seem to be the same...
Tell me, how exactly should I be EATING in order to properly target that area?---what should I cut out totally? I have cut out alot of things, and alot of fats, but I need to be sure I'm doing the right thing.
thanks.

- don't cut fat, cut carbs
- meal 1 as soon as you get up - fruit, oatmeal
- 2 - fruit, solid protein
- rest if meals are solid protein, veg, salad
- add in a protein shake and some rice/past/bread OR sugary cerial straight after your workout

that's basically it, just time your simple carbs having at times where you need them (as soon as you rise, after wt training) and be consistent an dicsplined and you'll be fine

what training are you doing?

You may need to cut Fat to some extent. Yes cutting Carbs may cause Fat reductions, when the body uses Fat for energy, it's not getting from Carbs, but Fat could conceivably be cut to some extent, though not massively.

Or at least switch some for Healthier Fats.

A: healthier Fats help reduce bad fat.

B: healthier Fats have no Nitrogen, so you'd be cutting the amount of Nitrogen to Uric Acid conversion in the Kidneys, you get daily.

Swan thanks, this sounds like a definite can-do..in fact, I have been doing some of this, so I will just make it stricter...
I'm doing 45-60mins cardio 3-4 days per week, and I follow each cardio session with 30-40 mins of weight-training.

cut your cardio to 20mins and do intervals alternating 1min as hard as you can with 1min as easy as you can

remember you can train hard but you can't train hard for long

Swan...if i cut cardio by that much, wont that stump weight loss? :? I still have 24 lbs to go to reach goal weight.

By doing HIIT/interval training, youll burn a significant amount of fat, if not MORE than 40+ min of med/light cardio.

like swanso suggested,
1min hard/sprint
1 min light

for about 15-20 mins. shouldn't go over 20 mins, otherwise you arent doing it hard enough.

more is not better

better quality is better though

the harder you do something the ashorter you can do it for, think sprinting vs a marathon...you don;t start sprinting at the start of a marathon or you won;t make it but you don;t jog a sprint race as you'll barely get halfway when the first person crosses the line...now look at the person first in the sprint compared to the marathin runner, way leaner and better body composition

The best food you can eat to help those abs is protein. You'll help speed up your metabolism.

To burn fat with cardio it's about intensity.

Good luck.
