Lift Timing

Post by ballas38 »

Should it always be : lift fast, return in a cotrolled manner? lift fast , return fast?

Should it be different if you are trying to lose fat rather than trying to gain muscle???

I read so many different things about it.

Personally, i try to lift fast, and return it with a speed where i have total control and feel the stress.

Always lower the weight under control and then explosively lift it as fast as possible for every exercise, regardless of your goals.

Lifting the weight as fast as possible allows you to lift heavier weights. This is due to the fact that when you lift as powerfully as possible, you use more muscle fibers.

Heavier weight = Stronger muscles = More muscle + Less fat.

dont go too slow though, sometimes its better to go a bit faster, as slow lifting causes an increase in fatigue i believe.
