Adapting Routine to Thumb Injury

Post by timtimtimmah19 »

So I just went to the doctor who told me that thumb never fully healed from football injury in the fall. Long story short, I cannot do any presses for the next three weeks. That means no bench press, military press, or anything that puts excessive pressure on the thumb "capsule", or area where the thumb joins the rest of the hand.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I could do for chest exercises during this time since I have to cut out presses. All I can think of now are pushups/variations, flies, and cables. Anything suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!

this is a great time to get some much needed back and leg work in...simply maintain chest with push ups and flies, they won't shrink and shouldn;t lose much strength, well nothing you won;t get back almost straight away when you start up again
