Forums can be fun. There is much information to be gained. In fact, too much information in some cases.
I strongly urge individuals who are seeking help in the areas of health and fitness to "think outside the box" (the box being health & fitness forums).
There is NOT ONE solution for every individual. We are a varied lot, and our bodies respond differently to different stimuli, including eating and exercise.
Take what you get for advice, in this forum or any other, and filter it. Does the advice fit your lifestyle and goals? Is the advice given something you want to do at this time? Do you not have faith in the advice given? If you answer "no" to any of these questions or you have any doubts, seek a different opinion.
Whatever goal you are chasing, you must have the belief that the process taking you there is sound. The journey should be enjoyable, even if it is difficult at times.
If the information available on the internet is overwhelming, hire a knowledgeable, experienced and certified coach for a few sessions. It's money well invested if you are serious about meeting your goals.
In time, you will understand what works for you, as an individual, in the terms of training and eating. Don't be afraid to deviate from the beaten path and try something new or frowned upon in the forums you frequent. It may be the missing piece to your success.
I wish you all the best of luck in meeting and exceeding your goals with an open mind and positive spirit.
