Mix the two ... 2-6 reps donsen't mean you will only gain strengh, you will gain mass too if you eat well, for the 8-15 reps ... may be good for mass and strengh too, just mix the two. But if your goal is too be a performent marine, I would better follow a strengh program, Swanso from here can help you more than me !
i'd go for strength but some muscle increase is always good...try the Waterbury Program by chad waterbury which is a good mix of both and easy to follow

So would it be good to do 3 sets of 2-5 reps of a lot of weight then 2 sets of 8 reps of not as much weight?
