working out twice a day...results?!?!?!

Post by belladiamondz »

I have been working out for quite some time now..however I just recently started going to the gym twice a day at least 3 times a week taking two cardio classes...On the days I dont go 2x, I go once and do cardio, weights, etc. I am eating super healthy. Im trying not to stress the speed of results...but at this rate how much can I expect to loose in a month. goal is for 30lbs by May 31st...is that safe and attainable?
please help and advise what else I should be doing, eating, etc...to help get to that goal!
thanks again! :)

far too much, you'l end up getting fatter from cortosol build up if you haven't already...

i don't like cardio classes, they're not very effective...just look at the instructors...

post wts program (this is far more important than cardio for fat loss) and food intake daily

Cardio can be part of your weekly schedule but you only need it 2-3x max, unless you're specifically training for road races.

Classes would depend on what they are. and the variation of intensity. Some circuits have a mixture of high impact and stuff like Bodyweighted things, or multiple rep low weight stations, so the intensity fluctuates.

Good for stopping the body acclimatising to it, but for weight loss the intensity might be a bit inadequate.

Gym 2x a day is definitely over the top. The only people who do about 2x cardio sessions a day, are people who train for things like Figure, BB etc etc, and that's usually for 2-4 weeks only pre-contest, not usually more than that, as it's fat shedding, but with the diet they're on, not very muscle sparing.

Quality is better than quantity. It's better to focus on getting quality workouts that just working out more. More won't help you lose weight faster. To workout that much you need to be eating huge amounts of calories to give your body what it needs, even if you do want to lose weight. You're at risk for overtraining.

There's nothing wrong with working out by doing cardio first thing in the morning for 30-45 minutes by doing tae-bo or some sort of weight loss interval workout and then doing an evening weight workout but only workout in the evening with weights twice a week.

Here's basic weight loss plan for you...
Do tae-bo or weight loss intervals first thing in the morning 4x a week and do a light cardio session of walking, bike, or other easy cardio 3x a week first thing in the morning 3x a week.

Do an evening weight training session 2x a week and th other 5x a week do a light cardio session of walking, bike, or other easy cardio in the evening

Here's why 2 workouts a day are better

gthere's nothing wrong wioth 2/day's and they are better then 1 long session but you need to build up some decent tolerance first as well as near perfect recovery and eating straegies in place which 995 of us don't...this is where muscle breakdown and injuries will occur...

first thing in the morning??? not for breakfast i hope...

i would rather wts every morning and cardio 2/week...cardio doesn't burn fat, it produces it

how many sessions do you do a week adrian? you have prescribed 7 sessions in one week...i only do 5 - 6 and 2 of them are injury prevention type circuit days

Remember... as a whole - you're only the higher intensity tae-bo workout 4 mornings a week and the moderate-high intenisty weight training session only 2 nights a week and...

All the other workouts you'll do a very low-moderate intensity weight loss workout like 45-60 minutes of walking so...

I really doubt you can overtrain from this now if I had said do tae-bo in the morning and weights in the evening every day - then yes.. that may be overtraing for 70 percent of the population

instead of doing 7 moderate - low intensity workouts, why not do 3 - 5 high intensity workouts? less time, more effort

high intensity raises metabolism...number one factor for fat loss = metabolism

swanso5,

You're absolutely right but I'm taking into account her fitness level is average so I'm pretending she's the average person who isn't used to many high intensity workouts like me and you probably are but...

Fo all I know 4x of tae-bo, intervals, or circuit training could be TOO much for her and she may be able to only take 2-4x a week of this high intensity thing.

just base it on relativity...

what's hard for her probably wouldn't be hard for me but it's high intensity for her...the principle is still the same though mate

you also need quite a bit of mobility to do those tai bo moves properly which would be worse than her fitness level i'd guarantee
