Injury!

Post by Fitgirl »

Hi was wondering if anyone can offer some advice, Not looking for medical advice just if anyone can give me some insight.

About a week ago I was doing the standing calf machine
when I came up I felt something in between shoulder
blades sort of pop and got a shooting pain across
shoulder (felt nauseous ect). That night I had some
major spasms. Now its just real sensitive keep
getting a weird sensation almost like a numbness and
pain across shoulders. I've seen Chiropractor and he
tries to adjust it but for one its too painful (it
actually takes breath away) and also it just
doesn't go back. I'm still able to work out but have
to modify a few things so it doesn't spasm on me.
What do ya think?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a bunch
Deb

If you feel numbness then maybe you trapped a nerve?

Yeah think it is a pinched nerve, I'm working with a chiro (muscle stim adjusting and massage). Its doing a little better but still not back to normal.

in that regard:

- cut out all overhead work and bench press work
- keep inverted rows and push ups
- do heaps of seated, db, chest supported rows and face pulls
- fire up lower traps with band pull aparts and band pulldowns as well as wall angels / wall slides
- stretch out shoulder girdle with the sleeper stretch
- squats and lunges with bb behind head may need to be limited too if they cause pain so just hold the bar in front like the start of a bb sgoulder press for squats and lunges...even better take up deadlifting
