Loss of Muscle Firmness

Post by milly »

If resistance training is not consisent, why is muscle firmness lost quickly (i.e can start to feel "flabby" in a week).

Can you elaborate on this? I have never experienced this. Especially not after only a week off.

iuf your not "building muscle" than your "losing muscle" at any one time which is the reason for protein with every meal...males have better hormones to sustain muscle without training if your not training consistrently and eating protein consistently (or enough of) than that is what can happen

I'd say you might need to build a little more muscle, you don't go from firm to flab in one week. Unless it's water retention you are feeling.

Loss of Muscle Firmness

Post by milly »

Thank you guys.

I have noticed that after a week of doing nothing, muscle can feel less firm.

Thanks for tip on protein (probably doen't eat enough) and how can I find out if I am retaining water. Gym I go is not able to help.

drnik more water...your body will retain water if it's lacking consistent intake so it doesn't dehydrate

Muscles lose "tonus" (tightness) when they are not stressed. It is not atrophy per se, but is a sign that fibers are not beingmanipulated. Think of guitar strings...

muscle firmness

I have noted that if not worked out, some body types lose muscle firmness quickly & others lose it over a longer period of time. What is the reson behind this? does harmone come into play?

Sounds more like Fat gains. The persona body type is less Ectomorph, and more Mesomorph or Endomorph, allowing more Fat to be stored quicker, given the appearance of less defintion.

Yes such body types are also potentially more able to gain muscle quicker too, but I'm not 100% sure such body types lose it any quicker than Ectomorphs. May, may not, but definitely to me sounds like a increase situation.

mesomorphs have more natural muscle and won't lose muscle as quickly as ectomorphs who are naturally long and lean...they still will without proper food and training but not as quick
