Hello,
I am an 18 year-old college freshman. Throughout high school I was also involved in athletics, but I never really got into pptimal shape. Now I have gotten a lot stronger and put on about 7-8 pounds of muscle since school started this fall. I am, however, still struggling with getting abs more defined, and I'm a little unsure about how I should be eating.
Basically, is it possible to eat a diet that allows muscles to grow and strengthen, while at the same time burning off that extra teeny bit of fat? I have heard some people say that you need to burn off the fat, lose some weight, and then worry about putting muscle back on. I would like to do both at the same time, but is it possible?
I don't know much about nutrition. I've been trying to eat as much high protein/ low saturated fat stuff as possible, while avoiding sweets, sugars, and simple carbs as much as possible.
Thank you in advance!!

This is the link to part 2, there is an internal link to part one.
You can cycle the 2 macro plans into 6 week segments, but it will depend on how fast you gain/loose fat and muscle, and how quickly your body adapts to each cycle.
CT has a 4 week bulk, 4 week cut article, but I didn't bookmark it.
If it's only the abs that concern you, use the cut cycle first and be sure that you are getting adequate exercise in.
