Carb intake, abs, CaLoRiEs

Post by x_rated_mo »

Yes, whole wheat low glaecamic carbs are the best--but i see that the only difference between the two os the whiter carbs cause insulin spikes whereas the browner ones dont and keep u feeling full .. what if u use those grams of pasta/rice noodle carbs as energy for a workout ??
moms been cooking alot of chinese recently, god knows why but its delicious :D and i always make her punch up the amount of veggies in there so its more healthy, and less carbs .. offcourse when its up to me, i base it around whole wheat products, but when lunch or dinner is available already might as well grab some of that (mom's a great cook)

abs.. i love them. check out this dude's abs (the second one, cuz the first one has a wierd thing going on in his lower abs which remind me of lower abs lol):
http://youtube.com/watch?v=pXZeqiRIhlo
thats basically the look i'm goin for, but for some reason i feel like upper body might be getting more definition (havent seen the fat come off YET) but stomach is kind of sloppy--although the abs do show and look nice .. still got that small thing goin on over the lower abs.. what pisses is me off is that i FEEL inguinal crease but i dont see it, lol. damn, keeping these bad boys sharp is like a boomerang.
and i guess this issue and the above one about carbs are interrelated--if other carbs (non whole wheat) destroy abs, then u've automatically answered this question haha
but i wanted to ask about abs-TRAINING. i know i'm supposed to include them in the twice a week full bodies, but for instance last workout i was stripped of time so i had to take abs out of circuit and do that circuit 3 times due to squeeze the 20 minute cardio in .. ultimately i dont feel that abs are reaching their training potential--although the interval training is keeping them nice. may add a session of abs before intervals on monday?

also because of work and daily activities, im not consuming the apropriate amount of calories i should be (most of them for sure though) so i end up consuming calories at night when i come home .. like a meal at 8 then a snack at 11 .. its bad but what can i do--i take meals like beans or chicken breast and veggies and eat it during breaks or right after workout in the gym .. any suggestions on this ?

you don't really want an insulin spike before training as you'll get drowsy and actual workout may suffer...stick with low gi sources before hand for a sustained digestion / release and save the stir fry for the after you shake...

you've basically gotta lose all other upper body fat before mid section so keep at it your on the right track...

do ab workouts doesn't really get you abs...how much muscle can you treally build with such low wt exercises such as those for the abs?? none really or eberybody would have 6 packs...stick to the plan...you've got big enough abs, you just need to strip what's over the top of them...

make breakfast and post workout meal bigger...avoid too much at night although i eat immediately before going to bed...i've started a new job recently and have had some trouble there too...at old work i could eat "on the job" so as long as i had food, i could eat it...at this one i can't as i have client after client all in a row for up to 5 hours straight so instead of having 7 - 8 medium meals as usual i now have 10 meals...here's an actual day i had:

fri nov 2

rise 5:15am - 6 x weetbix, 400ml skim milk, sugar (client)
7am - 1/2 banana, 50g chook (client)
8am - same (client)
9am - 100g yohurt (client)
10am - same (client)
11am - apple, 100g mince meat
12pm - workout x 72mins
1:15pm - whey/water shake, rice bubbles, 250ml milk, sugar
1:45pm - left over protein shake
2:45 - sausages, bread x 2 each
5pm - steak, veg
7:30pm - 1/4 chicken, chips
10:30pm - fish, quick (chocolate milk mix), 250ml milk

worked 6 - 2 with workout at work included there so i took with me:

200g yoghurt
pre cooked mince meat
pre cooked 100g chicken breast
pre made whey shake
bowl of rice bubbles
banana
apple

i am organised, yes...i brike early meals up into 2 (meals 2 - 4) as i only have a couple of mins btw each client

haahahaha whooaa that is insane .. thats a mastermind move u pulled off bro ..
very good encouraging advice mate !! cheers to that

i actually bought a new pair of calvin kleins which according to sister show off legs n bum (i got the big bum from mom, n she got the not so big mom from dad n she hates me for that :P)
BUT.
yes, theres a BUT to this nice begining lol. oblique flab is like hangin out n wen i bend over (deadlift for instance) wen u look from the side u see the bit of flab too .. its the woorrsssttt thing ever!!
anyways ... lol

wow ur meal plan really is nuts. i would eat that much if i could. wat r ur goals in working out ?? r u just doing it for maintenance at this point ?
wats chook n rice bubbles ??

u kno, i would like to say i'm as organized as u r, but the reality for me is, i miss/change meals all the time--not purposely, just because of things that come up .. i have perfect meal plan but its only that perfect wen i dream of having one perfect day where i eat only the foods on the plan and eat the ideal calories have the perfect work-out then take jessica alba out on a date at the end of the night ............ yaaahh ......... :D

sorry got a little carried away, LOL!!

- it's not really a lot of food...meals are medium sized...just enough to keep me content for 2hrs then i go again
- chook = chicken
- rice bubbles = breakfast cerial we have here, you'd have one the same i'd think
- i basically eat the same thing at the same time everyday
- if you get Jess at the end of the night, i'll have her for the start of it
