For someone who trains 6 days a week is it important for him to eat pasta? or should he opt for brown rice?
I try to avoid strong carbs like potatoes, pasta and bread mainly. But I know that the important thing when taking carbs is burning it so i a bit mixed up..

Stay away from processed food there is no nutritional value in them whatsoever.
Carbohydrates is an important food group. It is fuel that feeds your body. You want to perform well in the gym (or in whatever form of exercise you partake in) so you need a good fuel that release energy slowly.
Starchy carbs are the way to go, they are not your enemy, they are your friend for fat burning and general good health. So incorporate starchy carbs in your diet. Such as wholemeal cereals, grains, wholemeal breads, wholemeal pastas, legumes, sweet potato (not your ordinary spud as it releases energy to quick) and brown rice.
And if you are training as much as you are you will have no problem in burning up the energy.
Simple carbs are your enemy so stay away from those bad carbs.
So to answer your question 'Yes' it is important to eat wholemeal pasta and wholemeal/grain breads and brown rice in your diet.
I don't know if I'm allowed to say this here but I highly recommend that you read the ebook burn the fat feed the muscle. It explains all this beautifully.

Complex carbs are the way to go, but be careful, carbs can be tricky. If your goal is to lose weight, try to get the majority of carbs from veggies and legumes. Save the whole wheat pasta, oatmeal and brown rice as a post workout meal. Try balancing out your macronutrients and see how it goes. 40/30/30 is a good place to start. See how your react to the mix after two weeks. If you are gaining around the middle (over the button) you have to play around with the fat, carb blend. Be sure to get 1 g of protien for every lb of lean mass.
If you want to gain, start at the same place. If the scale goes up and stays the same, your in the good place. If you are trying to pack muscle on, up the protien to 1.3 - 1.5g/lb LM.
Either way, don't reduce the healthy fats below 20%, you need that for recovery.
I hope that not 6 days a week weighted workouts!
good luck
