Post by shaunna »

If muscles are not sore the day or 2 after working out, does that mean i didnt work hard enough?

Not necessarily. Some people think DOMS mean you out worked out hard, not DOMS doesn't, but then again, if someone worked out a Bicep with a certain number of sets, and got DOMS, and someone else did one less set, and didn't, you can't say the other person did something uselss, as they may have done something as useful or perhaps a bit less so, or the other person overtrained.

Then again, DOMS doesn't necessarily mean you overtrained.

I've known people who claim to get DOMS, but not in the Shoulders.

It's a strange thing. I only got it about 2-3 times ever, but I train hard and I've gotten results, so I would say, don't get hung up about soreness, it's how you feel and what happens regards physical changes, weight lifting ability etc etc, not how sore you feel 24-48 hours later.

Same outcomes. Plus with DOMS, you shouldn't really feel sore later. DOMS mostly occurs the day after or 48 hours later, during the recovery phase.

I agree. Soreness is definately NOT an indicator of a good workout. In fact, the more and more well trained you become the less often you will experience soreness.
