Afternoon ladies (well evening for most of you)
Bekah your mom sounds like me....when I want to get it done I want to do it then, right now, not later. LOL Yup same with things that can wait, if I think of it, I want to get it done and have it. I bet your mom would love "tickle" file. I am sure Molasses, is familiar with it as used a LOT in many legal offices. I got Dean Ford and Betty loving it too. It's all the dates and good ones come with monthly files in them too. There are two sizes standard and legal. I buy the legal size as more room in them for the monthly files and bigger pieces of paper.
Anyhoo here's the link for letter:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0013CETUQ/_e ... GMO9&psc=0
And one for legal:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003HKN2G4/_e ... GMO9&psc=0
Mind you with the name of it you can find them cheaper elsewhere I am sure....as Amazon's prices seem to go nuts on these. Try office supply stores.....
I see you and I share fast talking too, Bekah. Yeah I wouldn't mind reading the book.
Yes I saw the Super Bowl was going to be in your neck of the woods. Hope the day is nice for them.
Oh yes Bekah when we came cross country I scheduled our stay and we got to Graceland. Mind you I thought Chuck was going to kill me as I just scheduled our hotel stays etc and didn't think of the dates as anything special. Well I should have as we arrived there on anniversary date of Elvis' passing, August 16, 1977.....hey I just looked at him and said it's still beautiful...I am here and they are putting out an extra special display...what more could I ask for.....Just loved it.
The whole trip was great. We figured it was probably the only time we'd get to travel cross country...we did miss Indianapolis speedway as the spring on the Vette went (mind you Joe checked this before we left and it was fine)....yeah right....so we found a hotel and called the local Corvette group to find out where to go to get it fixed and they told us and gave us the number and the guy said he'd call first to let him know we were calling and we needed it done ASAP as we were moving across country. It went great however, annoying as we had a 'brand new spanking spring being moved out to California" LOL
So our first stop was the Football Hall of Fame museum instead of Indy.....it was great and got lots of great pics, next stop was Graceland, then Texas, New Mexico, Arizona Petrified Forest National Park.....which is a United States national park in Navajo and Apache counties in northeastern Arizona,
where we saw the Meteor Crater and Painted Desert in Arizona. Plus Puerco Valley to the Laguna Pueblo is
a New Mexico legend. It's just a few miles west of Los Lunas and there you will enter the beautiful
Rio Puerco Valley, home to more than 10,000 archeological sites.
Plus we got to see Hoover Dam.....Unlike today, we got to go deep inside the dam and got to see
things that people can't see today. The pictures show how amazing the structure is. From Hoover Dam we were on our way to Las Vegas. So many of the casinos back then aren't even around anymore. Was a
long time ago. Then on to San Diego which was just gorgeous and lots of stuff to see....San Diego had a wonderful driving tour which we did before our trip to the Zoo!
We did stop at a beach and I unfortunately stubbed toe, which during our trip to the San Diego Zoo was very uncomfortable. Luckily they had a tram, plus just getting to see all the animals, made the toe a inconvenience I could live with! It was just wonderful as you can see by all the pictures. We were sorry to leave San Diego. If our stuff wasn't going to Sacramento, we would have made it our home. Next up on to Los Angeles; where we got to see Universal studios with all our favorite shows and movies....got to ride in the Jaw's ride too...plus went to Los Angeles and we got to see the Mission at San Juan Capistrano, some other missions, the great beaches of California, and some marvelous scenery. Then off to our home in Sacramento...well an apartment really...was just wonderful.
Shopping trip went great Bekah.
I will go check out the song tomorrow as almost time to do meds, etc.
Bama, I see you are all caught up and yes back to workout mode. Hope you had a good workout at the Y. That's right when you are retired...every day can be a holiday. Sorry on the car keys...strange. Hope you do find them soon.
Chris, Hugs on the water....don't worry it will eventually come. I see you walk to work and home Monday but took the car today. Glad you got a lunch time walk in.
Bekah kudos to you on stepping outside your comfort zone. I know you will do just fine as you did a lot of work as you said on it so you know it best. Smart move on the handout.
Kudos on getting all the walking in on Wednesday Chris, very sorry to hear about your son...sure hope he is alright and feels better soon and nothing serious. Good job on the water. Wishing you the best on the push ups.
Before I got sick years back and when we were into weights in Sacto and then again in Lousy we were both up in the high 20s and low 30s on the full push ups.. Today nope wouldn't even attempt a full push up with disease.
Oh this is why you and I get along so well too....as animal people are the best IMHO
Ha ha ha on the Long Guy-land......Yeah yeah yeah we love our R's too....I am laughing away here on you hear her voice when I right...
Gotcha on the health insurance and that's why you have to do them....HUGS
Oh Bekah what a wonderful idea to do and you need to take a pic so I can see LOL
Holy freaking cow Bekah....you got Chuck and I beat for sure....on those push ups and time.
No comment on the people in the Super Bowl.....those in the know now today I just don't really care anymore.
Oh the violin if only I could have played it well but such was not the case...I so wanted to play like Jack Benny.
Well on that note of only instrument back when I was 9 years of age LOL I am off to do meds, etc.
Have a good night all,
Sue

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Hi All I am taking a break from walking today. I tried to do a full push up but I could not even do one.
I have a bit of pain in right shoulder so I know I need to work on the muscles slowly and build them up. On the up side I only have to do one push up to be better than now.
I did about 5 push ups from knees and there was no pain.
That tells me I can get there.
Sue I am glad you had so many wonderful adventures to remember and tell us about!
Yah thanks on the water. I hope you will be able to get out and moving during some of these winter thaws.
Becky I don't think I could reals that goal for push ups this year!!
Have a great day all lovelies!!

Morning ladies,
Chris, enjoy your break today...ouch on the right shoulder. Sure that didn't help with trying to do a push up. Kudos on the 5 push ups from your knees.
Oh Chris, the cross country trip moving out here will we something we will never forgot...we are very lucky to have been able to do it. Plus have pics and that's the project I work on after Chuck gets the picture part done by making up our slide shows for it with music. So I get to relive it all over again. Happy times.
A great day to you too Chris.
Hope all of you have a wonderful Thursday. I am off to get stories, do comics, have breakfast and then vacuum and the list goes on....

From personal experience of using gas and electric to cook with, gas is slightly the better, as you can leave a hot pan on a trivet without affecting the cooked food, but if you do that on an electrically heated surface you risk mild burning to some of the food I:E: scrambled eggs, as the electrically heated surface keeps heat for longer, so the first time or two you use one you can get caught out.whenlifewassimpler wrote:I am with you on the gas stoves, YAH, miss them as we have an electric one here. I personally think gas cooks things better but JMHO.

Hi ladies,
Hope your week went well and your Friday does also along with your weekend. Off to get stories and other morning stuff. Lucy is already busy with the washes.....
Bossman, yes eggs are a problem. So we use a very low setting and our non stick pan and it works out well.
Well off to get morning checks done, breakfast, and a workout with Mari....then a busy day ahead.
Have a good one and a wonderful weekend.

Hi all! yes Bossman, gas is a whole lot better and faster too:) We have a glass top electric and have to watch as it stays warm for a long time after you shut it off too:(
Well its nice 0 degrees again from being 4 today and going down and not any warmer for the weekend even if sunny a bit:( Rather have snow then so cold. Did get snow last night east and west of it more. Poor son had his furnace go out late last night:( So he took igniter out and put electric heater on so not bad at 55 in his house anyway as pretty insulated but luckily pipes didn't freeze either as wind chill was -16. so he went at 8 a.m, had to go half way to Marq. to a place to get the part he needed through white outs etc. weather but he put it in and heat was on:)) He is going to order a cheaper igniter like it on amazon so he has a spare and doesn't have to go all over just in case. He did go work today but I know he didn't get much sleep and with 2 days off for sweating and chilly and achy all over, he felt a lot better today but this afternoon he was saying he's a bit achy and his eyes are achy too at work. I hope he goes home soon instead of working all the way to 9 pm and then the weekend is off to rest more. I'm tired as I was worried about him of course:) But he said he was warm in blankets and his cat;) He likes it cool also like me to sleep.
Just talked to son in MN> and its colder there then here, said it was like -10 and with wind chill of -30. He was walking his big lab but was a quick walk:)
sis had her carpel tunnel surgery and got home before more snow and all so she will be home a while since its her right hand. At least she doesn't even have to tie her dog up in back as so much snow, from the roof also that the dog goes potty, barks out there at the woods but doesn't try to go around the house to the front yard and road anyway.
I see you all are doing as much as you can with the exercise and ouch on the shoulder Chris. I get sore just from doing the walking LS one. Mo, I see you have been very busy and so your going MN. then? Different weather maybe a bit?:) I forget if I asked you that or not now:) so I better close up and see what I can do here as kind of tired anyway. take care if any ice around:) I know theres ice here under the snow as it rained before the sleet and snow:(

Morning ladies,
While I was writing YAH you snuck in and wrote a long post yourself. Sorry about your son getting sick and I see your sister got the dog out for a run. YUCK rain here for when we went shopping but hey better than snow. We aren't getting the floods here, but mountains are having issues and Los Angeles is the worse. I feel so so bad for them. Now the mud slides on top of the fire and now rain and mud.... heart goes out to them.
Brr on those temps YAH I don't miss them. Blowing warmer air your way. Was sorry to hear about your son's furnace going out.
I hope he went home early too to rest and gets better.
You and your son are like Chuck with it cool....me I prefer to be toasty warm.
I see your son in MN is doing what we used to and I don't miss that either, having to bundle up and walk outside with our Mr. Bo Jangles in 0 degrees and wind chills of -40.....not fun. Even Mr.. Bo Jangles would go and look up like to say I'm ready to go in now.
Glad your sister's surgery got done and she got back home before too much snow feel. Glad the doggy has a routine.
Well since it's 5:31 a.m., and I haven't slept yet tonight guess it's going to be an all nighter. Now off to get stories, do comics and mail before Chuck wakes up again. Can't complain been sleeping pretty good the past couple of weeks. It was bound to happen LOL
Wishing you all a good day.
Sue

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Hi All,
Mondays will be busy for me for a while this winter/spring. So I probably won't get lunchtime walks in. Yesterday I did get out for a 40 minute walk with DH. Better than sitting around the house.
I did some cooking on Sunday as well. I made a breakfast casserole to eat all week. Lots of veggies in it.
I also made a tomato sauce for a lasagna that I plan to make later in the week as I had tomatoes in the freezer that need to be used. Then I made a "egg roll in a bowl". Used spicy pork from our market and shredded cabbage It is very tasty. Trying to get eating under tighter control.
Adding more veggies and fewer grains to diet.
drinking is not too bad, for me. I am doing fairly well at getting at least 1.5 L of water each day but aiming for 2L.
Today I will get two 20 minutes walks in. Now that lunch is done I need to do some push up work as well. Let's say 20 counter push ups today.
TTFN!
20 push ups from desk done!

Hi, Sisters,
I need a little bowing smilie, Bekah--I am beyond impressed-- 60 military push-ups! Yowza!
Speaking of yowza, I heard the Vikes ended the game in spectacular fashion last Sunday.
The bookmarks are a great idea!
I hope your son doesn't have the flu, YAH. Yes, moving to MN will be much cheaper. Our property taxes here are bumping $10,000/year; the house there, we are paying $300/year. And when it's our primary residence, we'll get a homestead break that brings it down to around $100! I have 6 CDs in car that I listen to over and over; Simon and Garfunkel is one.
I am familiar with the tickle file, Sue, but I don't use one at home. I have a Mead zipper binder now.
I like gas stoves because it's easy to see the heat adjustment, and it happens more quickly. But I've been cooking on electric for more than 20 years, so I'm used to it by now.
Glad your son could his furnace by himself, YAH! Hope your sister heals quickly!
Yikes, Sue, sorry you were up all night! I wish Money had the same sense Mr. Bo Jangles had--he doesn't seem to even notice the cold. Pretty weird for a dog from NC!
Great job with the walks and push-ups, Chris! Sounds like you are having fun in the kitchen and making some yummy dishes!
Hi, Bama, hope your knee is feeling better?
I had a little kitchen fun myself today--I made a pot of lentil chili, cornbread and banana bread. I've also been working on going through DH's old client files and putting the ones that can be shredded into big trash bags. (There's a county shred day on Sat. and you can bring up to 6 bags of stuff to shred for free.) Because the file boxes have been out in the barn, it's not a particularly pleasant job! But I'm doing a little every day.
Sweet dreams, everyone!

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
It took 9 weeks of basic training to get to 60 pushups in two minutes with no rest.
i did more but if you don't go down to a certain point they don't count it.
Vikes had an awesome game on sunday!!!
One more game next week and if they win they are in the superbowl with a home town advantage!! See what happens!
Have a good week everyone! i'm glad you say mn is cheaper all the republicans complain about high taxes here.

Happy Friday all!!
Well Thursday I did get a 30 minute walk in at lunch time. Yay! Then when I got out to car I had a flat tire.
Oh well these things happen. We have a CAA membership and I gave then a call to do the change in the cold and snow.
This is the first time I had to call someone and it was worth it as the spare was flat too. They had me up and going within 40 minutes from the call.
Usually I would change it myself but it was cold out.

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Hi ladies,
Another up all night marathon for me......such is life....however, it gives me time to catch up finally since I am busy all day lately....
I see Mondays are going to be busy days for you winter/spring. Bummer on missing out on your lunch time walks. Glad you got out with your hubby walking last Sunday. Plus I see you did some cooking Sunday too. Your breakfast casserole sounds yummy and love lots of veggies. I see you made lasagna this week too. Your egg roll in a bowl sounds interesting too. Good job on the water consumption. I see 2 20 minute walks in too and 20 counter push ups too....kudos to you Chris.
I see you did good on Tuesday also Chris....you did better than me this week that's for sure....
I am with Molasses, Bekah awesome on the 60 military push ups..... Yeah anywhere is less than NJ and NY both places property taxes have always been high. Same here in California in certain areas. Oh I love Simon and Garfunkel too.
Oh I use tickle file for daily reminders, plus doctor's appointments, keeping track of stuff we need to do etc. I like organization.....in every facet of life....drives Chuck batty sometimes.
We are used to electric now too, Molasses, but still miss gas! Power goes you can't cook with gas you can...plus when we lived on L.I. and our area lost power a lot we had heat during the winter too.. putting the oven on and blankets on the kitchen openings and we all slept in the kitchen; plus made hot chocolate or coffee etc too.
We lose power here and we are stuck.....no eats.....can't cook....plus no heat or a/c either.
Well it's another night with no sleep Molasses as I write this....it's one of those week. Yeah you'd think Money would notice the cold and snow.
All of our dogs slept with us so they all were used to snuggling into our bodies or each others when we had Alex and Brandy and Brandy and Cassidy. Plus Buddy Max too loved snuggling on the bed.
I see you were busy cooking too Molasses. Ah yes that brings that memories Molasses....I got the job of file clearing and shredding myself in the legal offices I worked in.
Yikes Bekah that is a lot of push ups......I am giving you a STANDING OVATION.....CHEERS AND KUDOS!!!!!
Chris, glad you got your 30 minute walk in at lunch time, Thursday. Oh no on the flat tire. Yeah don't blame you on calling to have it fixed....I would have too. I was lucky mine happened in the non snowy months, so I could it myself and call dad at work to bring home a new one LOL Though once he stopped working there I had to buy some LOL
Wow nice response time for them especially in the winter weather.
I see you walked to work Friday while it got fixed.
Hope you all had a nice weekend so far and your Sunday is a good one.
I am now off to do a mail check and will try and get some snooze time....wish me luck....
Sue

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Hi, just popping in as a long day here again. Guess we're in the 12 to 15 inches of snow for Mon. to Tues. now but hopefully the weather guy is wrong:))
Missed fireworks in town last night, didn't know they were having them until too late and as dark earlier they were nice and early at 7 pm:( Have never seen them in winter and probably not getting to ski jumping either with the snow coming and their Tues. night.
I don't watch at all but hoping the Vikings win as Mich. and Wisc. are out:) son nearby in Mn. said it would be something as they would also be home play which is a big thing:) He called last night and said he is looking into remotely working from home as soon as Spring etc. They want to get out of Mn. and move back to the U.P. maybe around CF's where her parents live and she knows the schools etc. Would be very nice and low prices for sure around there compared to by city:) Some places are lower in Mn. but I think there are places that are very high and in taxes too. I'm just so glad they got their other house sold so quickly in Marq. as would have been very hard having to pay for that and renting the townhouse their in now. Plus I figure they would be a lot happier being in CF's too as close to GB and Marq. and her parents have a big house to babysit in also. I just said, go very slow in buying next time:) Don't be like us, jump in the cheapest place thinking you'll be there only a few yrs. and we're still here;((
Wow on those taxes Mo! Yes, our's aren't too bad here at all as house property and then the bigger garage across the highway and its property and not much over $300:) I do need to go and get car ins. and house ins. also, cheaper, some day:( We have cheaper but for what we cover in our vehicles, like not much, it is too much to pay from this certain company:( Hoping you can save a lot then in case of any future plans if you move south:)) I just wish I was moving, period:)
Sue, so sorry about the no sleep much again too:( Without helpers, I'd be like that a lot:( Hope you get some good nights now.
At least it got to 30's for a few days now, guess it was perfect for the Heikki Lunta celebrations in Neg. Thats Hank Snow in Finnish:) former Finnish teacher was the parade marshall I guess. But I didn't go.
Not sure if older son had flu or? as he only took 2 days off work and was ok. Maybe a touch of it. Guess the facility he works at is open again to visitors as the sickness is mostly over. Its so warm there so the germs stick around:( son gets to go outside to plow or shovel a lot though:) And he's very good at washing his hands etc. as he worked many yrs. in the kitchen there.
Well I better close this now, Hi to Chris and Becky also and I forget what I read sometimes but keep up the walking and all too:) Enjoy your ME day everyone and have a good week! take care

Re: Sisters in Sweat Journal (but all are welcome)
Hi All,
Just a quick pop in for me. Saturday DH was out and about in the car so instead of stay stuck close to home I put on walking shoes and headed up the hill to do some browsing at the stores. It took me about 25 to 30 minutes to get to a store. I found a great deal in a clothing store that is leaving for a buy one and get two more items free. Who could pass that up?
I also got the walk back home again down the hill. Yesterday DH and I got out together for 40 minutes of walking.
That is about it for me.
TTFN!
