Just skipping to say hi and thanks for the wishes too! It is in teens now but looking for very single digits for the weekend and xmas I guess, bitter cold:(( So I really don't like going out much even if I am sick and tired of being in this camp:( But I will try, if not weather bad out there?

So sorry about your migraines MO:(( Wish there was something to help you out. I can't imagine that pain? Yep, I suppose Everyone wants days off now but I was the one who worked at this time as not much more to do and I loved it:) SO miss it:( How do they think you can work with that?? Sounds like they need more on call people maybe? Wow, I could use you here with your redoing ability:) You'll have your house looking so good for selling! I hope you get to enjoy it also for a little bit:) We'd have to get tons of stuff out before doing anything here:( Are you going to see family this xmas or?

Bama, yes the picture of us:) Wish I was only 110 lbs. now:) And i thought I was fat then. I could lose 150 for sure and still be up there but it would make me feel better but I feel so much fluid or lymph stuff in me too:( niece just went in for maybe scope hernia but ended up being in hospital for 4+ days as they had to cut open instead but she did get a lot of adhesions cut and Dr. said it was a maze in there but thats about what they would find in me:) A Big maze plus a hernia and a Big hernia too and lots of stuff to cut for sure so I'm not going in this hospital though for anything:( She was in a different one. Too many horrible infected stories I hear about this profit one here now with lack of nurses etc. I haven't gone shopping at all this year so will be what money I can give is all I can do.

Sue, nice pics there and I do watch movies etc. with sad stuff as good to cry also:( At least then I have a reason to cry some out. I cry for books I'm reading even. Commercials, sad or happy tears:) Its like real life I guess. Hoping you get more sleep nights then not? Thanks for the email cards and all too:) I hope Margaret is feeling better too soon. Do relax and enjoy the holidays now:)

Chris, well your oldest son's age now:) He was a Dec. baby also:) Whoops, no he's 48 now:) Just did the math:) Hard to keep track:) Then i have the 33 and 36 yr. old boys:) He is a Great super big brother for sure:) Glad your getting walks in. Wish I had a big snowsuit, could go out when snow get high up and walk and if I fall, well soft snow to fall on:)
Hope everyone has some nice cozy holidays and also you all be blessed with all good things in the New Year too!! Thanks for being such nice friends even if I don't really fit in here for exercise but trying:) Hugs and Becky too if you happen to skip here! take care on the ice;( :chilly: :coffee:

Thanks for asking about me YAH. Have a nice Christmas to you! it's really not bad here snow and ice wise. I do walk outdoors and to people's houses for job and i do have to be careful not to fall. You guys would be surprised how many people don't maintain and shovel their driveways or sidewalks leading up their houses. or put salt out... Have a good birthday to everyone too. :sunshine:

Hi ladies,

Happy Christmas Eve to you all......yeah another one of those nights for me.....so be it....

YAH I see that it's cold there and congrats again on the 50th wedding anniversary. I loved the picture. Glad you one son got to celebrate with pizza. I see you SIL did the Wow thing too on 50 years...that is a long time....we are 8 years behind you.

Sorry about Henry and hope they keep him or at least find a nice home for him.

Glad you will see them all at the hotel and hope the weather is good so you can drive and stay as long as you want.

Yes Margaret is very very nice. Sorry on the Christmas shopping, though we do ours on line and not in the stores today just easier for us.

Molasses, I see we share no animals or people die in movies. Yeah we thought the kitty carol was funny. Only cats for us on the trees...our dogs stayed away....however, Alex (aka the Original Marley) would sit and look at all his toys....didn't touch them as he knew they'd go away so just looked....and couldn't wait till Christmas eve....LOL Buddy was the same way for Christmas and his birthday.

OMG on Flannery Jane and the candy canes.

Yeah itchies tonight again is why I am up Molasses, such is life. Yes was so so happy when I was done and yes presents are wrapped.

I see house projects have been keeping you busy and so so sorry about the migraine and wow on your boss being mad...hey people get sick and sorry about not much help from co-workers. Yeah I agree you don't scratch back....I certainly am not going to scratch yours buddy!

Wow moving right along and I need pictures of all this finished work LOL

Chris, I am sure your sister appreciated your taking the time off to be with her at the hospital and hope her DH's knee replacement went well and healing goes well too.

OMG on the cleaners cleaning up their chemical mess. Yeah I'd of been just like you Chris and put the fear of "Sue" in their hearts...been there, done that....hence the plaque on desk BEWARE.....Attack Secretary! Years back....I still have it.... I am looking at it now brings back a lot of memories. Between that and own index card on stand up on desk that reads "IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE ANSWER, DON'T ASK THE QUESTION!" No one messed with me.

I see you got some good walks in on Tuesday also. Oh you had a "me day Wednesday" ....yeah and hope you finished up the shopping.

Oh Bama, I see you had to go out and get more presents since your DIL called to say her oldest daughter was coming too. Hope you found something.

Hope your Friday night get together went well and they liked the Salt Lamps.

I see your weather has been nice but getting cold and possibly a White Christmas.......good luck.

Oh no Nancy so sorry to hear that the knee is acting up so badly again. Hope the doctor has some ideas for you.

They can say 8 hours but doesn't happen anymore...such is life. This from the gal who used to sleep 12 hours and get up 11 a.m. on Sunday mornings. LOL

HUGS on the PB cookies, Bama. I made pies and cakes and we bought the Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie dough and cooked that up.

grandma made great chocolate chip cookies, PB cookies and the list goes on.

A very Merry Christmas to you Bama.

Chris so glad your "me day" went so well. I see you did well and got to rest too. Oh Chris, I didn't realize your birthday was a day before mine....so a very Happy Belated Birthday......

Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Have a wonderful December Chris.

YAH yikes on those temps and hope your trip out goes well. Well I see you and I weighed the same when we got married....it was all the work cleaning we did that burned it all off LOL Sorry to hear about your niece and hope she is alright.

Glad you enjoyed the pics and I see you watch some sad ones too and cry. Oh I cry when reading some books too. Commercials too and Chuck just shakes his head. Yup real life and sometimes it downright sad....

I went over to check on Margaret but she wasn't there so I assume she is doing better.

Oh YAH you fit in just fine so no worries.

Bekah as I said in email and card have a nice holiday and like YAH said take care on those snowy icy walkways and roads. Another thing I don't miss about Western NY....been cold enough here at 28 overnight and now 30....brrrr....

Crazy people Bekah on not taking care of driveways, walkways or sidewalks. Yikes.....

Well I am now off to try and sleep again....wish me luck.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

Happy Christmas Eve, everyone!

Happy belated birthday, Chris ~ so sorry I missed it, but glad you had a good day. Best wishes for a wonderful year ahead. :sunshine:

Yikes, Bama, sorry your knee isn't healing quickly. :( Hope you had a fun get-together with your Friday friends. I'm sure they liked the lamps!

YAH, we are just happy to have you here. :) I'm sorry circumstances aren't allowing more exercise though, because I think it's so good for every aspect of health--mental and emotional as well as physical! I hope it's just the in-laws who aren't happy with Henry, and not your DS and DIL?

You might need some Yaktraks, Bekah, or at least some boots with good traction!

Bummer on those itchies. Hope you were able to get some sleep in eventually, Sue. Glad to hear Margaret is feeling better, and so happy that it's working out well for you guys with Teri leaving you a bit in the lurch. Glad you had a happy birthday, too, and enjoyed your pizza!

I am doing a little bit of bathroom of work this morning, and then I'll probably quit till Tues., but we'll see. I was hoping to have had the floor done yesterday, but haven't even started it yet. I had to wait for DH to take the old vanity out and he was not happy about having to work on his day off so he waited till pretty late yesterday. I hope I can finish all projects soon ~ they are not helping our relationship! He alternates between telling me to "slow down and take it easy once in awhile" and complaining that I'm not getting things done quickly enough. And I understand why he's frustrated, as I make quite a mess before I'm done and get things put back together, but still, it's all part of the process!

Anyway, I'm happy that DD and SIL (and their dog, and SIL's brother) are heading to DS's house to spend the night and celebrate the holiday. It's a 6 hr ride for them, but it warms heart to know they'll be together. :sunshine:

I am wishing you all a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Hope everyone is safe and warm and peaceful!

Just wanted to wish and hope all had a Merry Christmas and the New Year brings all you wish for also! Its -15 right now and wind chill of 28 below also:( Suppose to be a bit colder tomorrow even:(( I'll try to get to the motel so I can see the gkids swim and all but I sure hate going out in this stuff. No they will never get rid of Henry:) I guess when they went out from motel on Sat., Henry was ok sleeping on bed and watching tv;) Dave just has to be there otherwise ot take him out etc. at the in-laws etc. He has a very strong tail as when they dropped in here for a while, a lot of things went flying as not much room here:)) Good reason to throw out if anything breaks I say!:) middle son just left for GB around 9:30 pm tonight. I am praying he has a good drive and all as too cold to get in any trouble in the country side up here or in Wisc. either before you see any towns. oldest son had his 3 too early 5 a.m shifts and all done and off for the week; Back to normal 1 pm work day after New Years:)
Bama, Happy Birthday to you as I think your bday is close or after xmas right?? If not, wishes anyway:) May you have a good one and a very amazing year too!! Sue, sleep and enjoy the holidays too:) Mo, wow, you are getting a lot done there! Hope the migraines stay away and nice that your kids are getting together. Thats what I always wish if I can't see them, that their with someone during the holidays:) Becky, hope you get some yak-trax or? and be careful if you have to make way up driveways etc.:( Enjoy your holidays also:) Chris, not sure your working holidays or not but take care and this cold weather is suppose to use up calories too right?:) Hope so:) I should be really using them up:) so going bed now to read and I know I will hate to get up in the cold tomorrow. I suppose kids get to the motel around 3 pm and I was hoping to go Marq. earlier but who knows. First time out since TG and its gotta be so cold:( Watch the ice! good night all :chilly: :chilly: :coffee:

Morning ladies,

Another one of those nights....such is life.....

YAH, yes a very Merry Christmas and boy I don't miss those temps at all. I hope you get to the motel to see the grandkids. I see Henry enjoyed the bed with the TV on....sounds like all of our dogs...TV or radio for them. If we forget to leave the radio on they would bark at us LOL

Yeah all of our dogs since they were all so big had tails that could do a "lot of damage". Luckily they never did.

Hope your middle son has a good drive and made it home without any mishaps. Glad your oldest son's early shifts are done.

Yes Bama, hope you got card for your birthday and you had a nice day.

Slept for a while tonight and then up as started to itch and gave up and got up instead...keeps mind off of it and sometimes calms it down.

I am with YAH, Molasses, you are going to have the house in tip top shape.

Becky not sure what a yak-trax is but hope like YAH said you can get it.

Hope you slept after reading a bit YAH.

Hope you get to Marq. Earlier and blowing some of our warmer air your way.

Well off to get mail cleared and see if I can sleep after that.

A good Wednesday to everyone.

Yaktrax (I spelled them wrong in first post, I can see from YAH's post!) are contraptions you strap to the bottom of your shoes or boots to give you traction on ice, Sue. You probably won't be needing any out there!

Hope you got to the hotel, YAH; I'd hate to think you missed the opportunity to see the grandkids. I know it's bitterly cold though, the kind of weather that makes you want to hunker down inside and drink cocoa, wrapped in a cozy blanket!

Are you out tromping around in that cold, Bekah? :chilly:

Hope everyone had a nice holiday. DH was cranky on Christmas Day, so I spent most of the day working on the bathroom floor after all. At least I was productive! He needs to run to Home Depot before he can get the new vanity/sink in, so that will wait for this coming weekend.

Our kids had a nice visit together, and DD and crew got safely home again, thank goodness.

Today I went back to the dr who did eye surgery 4 1/2 years ago; I've been seeing double again the past few months. He says I need the surgery done again, so I have to call his surgical coordinator tomorrow to make sure that he is in network with our insurance, and then get the surgery scheduled. (I sure hope he is in network, because I don't know what I'll do if he's not--look for another strabismus specialist who is in network, I guess.) I am really trying to be ready to list the house by Feb. 1, so I hope this doesn't throw a monkey wrench into that plan. The recovery was much longer (and more painful) after the first surgery than I had anticipated, so I'll need to take time off from work, but maybe that will give me more time to do the home projects. :?

Anyway, wishing everyone happy, and as Sue (and Charles Dickens by way of Tiny Tim) says, "God bless us everyone" indeed!

I can't i don't think wear yaktrax. I am indoors and outdoors, i'm driving. I don't have time to take them off an on. I think i just need to be careful. :)

I am out in the cold some of the time. I don't really mind it. It's actually easier than when its really warm out. :)

I hope the surgery on your eyes goes well Mo. I"m sorry you have to get it redone...

sister's pup the golden. Is so sweet. He really likes me a lot. He gets so excited to see me. yesterday i watched him. We had to have him in the kennel a lot of the day. IN the afternoon i took him out and he was kind of wild from being kept in the kennel for so long. mom's house isn't dog proof and i for a second after laptop almost went crashing to the floor was going to put him back in the kennel. But as i said it and walked towards the kennel. He had a real sad look come on his face and he laid down real sweetly like he was saying, i will be a good boy.. broke heart. heart melting. :) He was a good boy the rest of the time too.

Have a nice New Years! :)

Hi ladies,

Thanks Molasses, on what the Yaktrax are. Nope not here unless you go into the mountain areas. Now in Rochester, NY years back they would have come in handy as we got it by the foot and had storms like PA several times a year but then they areas were used to it and so were our snowplows that took care of it all so we all could get to work.

Yes YAH as I said to you yesterday, like Molasses, I hope you get there so you can see the cutie pie of grandchildren you have.

Yup Molasses, that's the kind of weather exactly and I went through a lot of hot chocolate. I still have it here in the winter (or our version of it) but hey we are hitting 28 and 30s at night so cold here now for us....after all these years now we get cold at 28 and 30....not like our first years in Sacto when I went to work with a light sweater on, no coat, hat, gloves ......after living in the minuses for so many years and wind chills of numbers I don't want to think about anymore...the 30s in Sacto and high 20's were balmy weather for us. I can still remember the looks I got at work.

However, Kathleen(she was originally from PA) told me, Sue give yourself 10 to 15 years out here and you will become a California wimp....she was right LOL

Sorry your hubby was cranky on Christmas day, Molasses. Sorry you didn't get a day off from working.

Glad the kids had a nice visit together and they all got home safe and sound too.

Oh Molasses, HUGS sorry about the eye surgery. I had cataract surgery years back, as you know, and could see so much better but it wears off .....hence the glasses this year for distance and reading. Though I have to say I wear the distance for TV (but can still see the TV pretty good without it) and the reading glasses are a necessity.

I sure hope you can have the surgery quickly and all goes well. I will have to have left eye redone but eye doctor said it's a quick and they can do it when I come in for next eye appointment, which will be February probably. As I get the blurry and kaleidoscope look out of it.

Know you will be in thoughts and prayers.

I hope the surgery doesn't mess up the Feb. 1 listing for you.

Molasses, LOL about the "and as Sue (and Charles Dickens by way of Tiny Tim) says, "God bless us everyone" indeed!"

Can't help so many good sayings we know and don't know come from the movies we watch.

In fact, due to what I wrote to a friend the other day "words and music" which is from Eddie & The Cruisers had Chuck deciding that was what we should watch last night.

Bekah, I looked at the yaktrax on Amazon and looks like to me too, like they stay on but not big enough to cover your regular shoes...don't really know though. So maybe some pull over boots over your shoes would probably be easier for you. Plus you could leave them on and get more traction. Just a thought. I had good boots when we lived back east for the winter and just carried shoes for some jobs and at the University I'd leave shoes(I had several pairs there....so did Betty and Dean Ford) there and put them on when I got in the office.

Oh Bekah a Golden Retriever....oh I am in love with it and haven't even seen it....they are so cuddly, so sweet and just want to cuddle up and be around people. Yeah they do get excited once they are out of their kennel or doggy house....puppy proofing is a must. I hope your laptop survived the crash. I see he was smart enough to realize..."oops I was a bad boy"....I will show her I will be good and lay down now, just wanted her to know I'd rather be with her than in kennel." See he was a good boy the rest of the time and so happy to have his Bekah there with him.

Well on that note.....I am off to lunch, albeit a late one but Chuck is dillydallying with his book list.

Hope everyone has a good day and if I don't get back beforehand a very HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE AND NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!

Aw, your puppy-nephew sounds adorable, Bekah! :sunshine:

Thanks on the eye wishes, Bekah and Sue. I am scheduled for surgery on 2/14, which was the first date available. I need to get clearance from dr first, and since I have a check up on 1/29, that should work out well. The dr is in network, now I just need to find out if the facility is, according to insurance co. They couldn't find the facility under the name I gave them, but I think the name has changed since I went last so I'll have to get the right info and call back.

I've been hoping for cataracts, Sue, but that's one eye problem I haven't got yet. I keep hearing how well everyone can see with their nice new lenses, no glasses needed! Hope your goes well, too!

Happy New Year to you also, thanks. :) Wishing everyone a wonderful 2018!

I need to go get sexual harassment online training done. Sweet dreams, everyone!

Hi and hope you all are enjoying winter? SO cold here yet with wind chills of below 0 of course:( But we've been lucky with not much snow anyway while its been snowing like crazy up north where sis is:( She had one day yesterday luckily as she had to bring her DD in for taking staples out etc. while DD's Dh was working and he got her later then and off they went as today is a different story. I go to MTU web cams and it is Snowing like crazy again and calling for weather storm warning even up to 47 miles from here. I'm hoping they go south and don't come this way much on Sat. Kids will be driving around on Sunday for New Years again. And from GB etc.
yes, Mo and Sue, I did see Gkids in Marq., was fun watching them swim and wishing I was in there too and really wishing I was in the sauna they had there too:) But I was a guest only, and too hard to on and off clothes etc. in there for me:) No one else was around in pool area and all so we had it all to ourselves and Henry was good in the room watching tv:) Dh came there also and oldest son too. I stayed the latest of course:) Guess Dh needs cataract surgery pretty bad though as he couldn't see too good to get out of town as so much glare. Dr. did tell him but he's never driven at night much anymore but I said what if He Had to for emergency?? I'm still good and don't mind driving at night if nice weather;) Which it was then and I just drove to son's house and stayed a night there and we went out to eat the next day then:) then I got a few groceries and came home in dark also. Got some nice gifts also and loved the pillow with a pic of son, dog and kids in it:) Well I guess they all did stop for a few min. on way to CF's when Dh was here so kids could see their cat Misa also and give a few gifts to Dh and Misa:) Dog stayed in van for that though. They also had picked out, I mean the kids, a nice table top pot with a few spruce and cedar little branches in it plus a few carnations in it too for me:) I figure its for our 50th maybe:) Guess son and wife are going Marq. for New Years Eve though but not the kids:) and then they all have to get back to MN. for son's work on Tues. they had a good week off. oldest son also has had it all off too and finishing his wood wall in his living room too:) Middle son is probably trying to make some room in the very tiny house he moved into for a little while I hope. I think he was planning also to come up but just has weekend off so I'm hoping no big storms here.

Mo, you never know, as nice as your house is, it might get sold real quick as our son's was but we were surprised at that but so thankful for it too. I know DIL hated even driving by it but it would have needed a lot more work not too long into it also so we're all glad its gone now and the Big pine trees right behind it also, if they went down, a lot would come down:( And lots of money to get them out of there as no real way to get in back yard there. Sure hope your eye surgery goes smoothly and be ok for a Long time!
Sue, sorry about any bad sleep nights and I'm sure you are enjoying your decorated house and all though:) Cozy and all. I'm keeping little colored lights up all winter now and good night lights too:) van had to be boosted just to go Marq. so trying to run it for a while Every day even if I don't go anywhere:)
Yep, Bekah and all, love the Yaktrax as I think these are called with the coiled wire going crisscross on bottom? I don't like the spikes or anything like that. I used to put them on shoes going into work cause of any ice plus walking on rug all the way in and they were fine. I don't know if they would be slippery on plain floors though? Or you'd have to walk carefully but not suppose to mess any floor up anyway:) I went to One store while in town but was able to park closer as not so many people for once out, and walked on dry pavement all the way in. I hadn't put them on.
Chris, hope your doing ok and not sick either? Maybe enjoying the kids off of school? take care anyway;)
Bama, love the pic's you have on fb that I've seen and seems so nice and roomy over there:) I imagine its a bit colder there now also? I guess MN. where son lives doesn't get too much snow but Very Cold temps though. Mo, I believe where your from in Mn. they probably get more snow though right? Not sure how Barb is doing up in Ely? DB and SIL go through Duluth way to south Mn. to their sons and flew out west for the New years:) Guess it was raining pretty bad in WA. for them now. But if it turns cold, then you have ice. Rather have snow.
Bama, did Happy come along for xmas too then?:) Well, going make pea soup out of ham bone and all. mad a venison plus beef meatloaf to use some of that up already. don't cook this much often:) take care and keep warm!! :chilly: :coffee:  oh and its coffee not hot cocoa for me:)

Morning all, and Happy New Years Eve. Hope all had a wonderful and blessed Christmas . It was good at our house. Enjoyed seeing the kids and grandkids.
Tree is all down and everything put away.

Got an Air fryer plus a Google home mini. Love the mini . Haven't used the air fryer yet .

Changing from AOL to Google so am learning new ways or I should say different way of doing things . Had AOL for many years and got so use to their ways. But in time Google will seen old stuff to me.

Haven't read the posts yet but will catch up later today .

mom got an amazon echo from someone who loves technology. We returned it. We don't need to tell someone to open the garage or unlock the door. we can just do it ourselves. we returned it for an antenna so we don't need cable.

One problem with buying things for gifts from amazon is you can't return it. so the person that bought the gift has to email you a return slip and then they could forget and not get you a gift at all. i got a gift i already had and they bought it with reward points so basically i'm stuck with it.

mom's book has 3 reviews on amazon. all 5 stars. :sunshine:

we will be working on the second book illustrating soon. the rough draft is pretty complete. this will be more detailed and longer book. But i think it's going to turn out really cute. I"m excited to see the illustrations and what she comes up with.

does anyone have any new year's resolutions?

I was talking to a woman from India the other day and she was telling me about something her son got for Christmas. I thought she was saying "Alaska" and from her hand gestures guessed she was talking about an insulated cup. Took me about 3 min to realize she was talking about Alexa. :D

I'm not too big on technology either, so no Echo or Alexa or anything like that here.

Yay on your mom's book reviews, Bekah! If I knew any little girls, I'd be gifting them that book. It's so cute and has such a nice, and necessary, message.

I usually do a ton of resolutions, in all sorts of categories, but this year I think I'm going to just choose a theme. I was thinking of "release" but then got an email where someone was talking about chiseling away what doesn't serve her, so I'm thinking that will be theme--chiseling away the excess stuff I don't need anymore. :D How about you, Bekah? Resolutions?

I'll be interested how you like the air fryer, Bama. Someone at the Y was telling me they got one and the first thing they tried was calamari; he said it fried all the flavor out! So he was experimenting with it.

I'm thinking of buying an Instant Pot. Anyone have one of those?

Eva, there's not much snow up in MN either. Kind of worrisome with the low temps, and no snow to insulate the ground; hope pipes aren't freezing! Glad you got to see the kids. :sunshine: Hope your DH gets his eyes done soon so he can see. I've had icicle lights up in the living room since last Christmas ~ I enjoy them all year.

Hope all is well, Chris and Sue!

Wishing everyone a wonderful new year~
