Happy Thursday all!
Our university starts it's fall classes today which means it is time for me to start walking to work. So I walked to work this morning (20 minutes) and will do the same to get home. We are having rain finally with no complaints from me mind you. Don't worry I won't melt in the rain. Last night i did tear myself away from the couch to practice chanter for an hour. I actually enjoy the time.

Enjoy your family visit Mo! Thanks DH did recovery very quick. So far no one else is complaining of anything.

Have a great day all! :D

Hi everyone, I am still around LOL . Just enjoying some fall weather here in Ohio. I think Summer is over . Wishing Molasses a Happy belated Birthday .

Chris nice that you will get to walk to work . Great workout indeed. Walking is always good for us.

Yah, enjoyed the pictures of the grandkids . They are sure getting big. And that beautiful blonde hair .

Sue we talk via email .

I am still going to the Y's silver sneakers classes. We (2 friends) go to the one in city one day a week and then to the other's one day a week . A little drive to that one but the classes are quite different . The Y that is so far away holds their classes 3 days a week and at 8 am which I like and the one that is near house (7 minute drive) only has the class twice a week and doesn't start until 9 15 BUT the instructor is always at least 15 minutes late . WE just visit or walk while waiting for her .

When I got home from the class today , we had no electric , thankfully it was only off for a couple of hours , Hubby playing in a Golf tournament today so I have the day to myself and I think I will just piddle around here . and I need to get started.

Morning ladies,

Yup another sleepless Saturday night...or should I say morning as here it's 4:15 a.m.

Time for me to do some catch up.......

YAH I see you had a nice relaxing Labor Day....us too as we don't celebrate it any longer. A belated Happy Anniversary to your brother and SIL. Sorry you missed them. Plus I see some thunder bumpers and rain for you too. Glad your son from GB stopped in to have some food. Glad you got to see him for a bit and he was able to help you with some stuff too.

We did our list up on Monday for our Wednesday shopping YAH so no cleaning LOL Yeah got a bunch of paperwork done and monthly stuff too. Sleep was good and bad this past week. Yeah lots of fires in the mountains, hence our bad AQ alerts and warnings. Wow scary on those earthquake in Idaho.

Wow a lot of people on the big Mac big. Yeah me too these days way too crowded.

Chris, kudos on the 30 minute walk this past Tuesday.

Glad you had a nice birthday, Molasses. I see the bathroom is coming along nice and you had a nice birthday cake too....yup birthday equals cake LOL

I see you DD made it there safe and sound and glad she is there visiting as I know how much you miss her.

Thanks on the August workouts, Molasses. Blood tests looked a bit better on some things than before, so I am a happy camper. Quest had them up on Chart (new thing our UMC has had for a while) allows you to go get your test results, emails from doctors, etc Unfortunately it looks like after I looked at results a couple of days later they change the format of it and OMG it sucks....couldn't leave well enough alone.

No we still had it this past week some days, but only in 90s the end of this week and AQ is a bit better too. Yeah me too Molasses, I cried when I heard too.

I see back to class for your university last Thursday, Chris and walking to work commences for you. I see rain today and no I didn't mind walking in it either. Had no choice as by the time we'd get the car parked we'd have a normal mile and a half walk and if we didn't get to park in that lot and had to go further back it was longer.

I see you practiced chanter on Thursday night too. Glad to hear you DH had a quick recovery and no one else is complaining.

Bama, yeah miss Fall arriving in September, but don't miss the snow....so I will live with summer till October and go from there LOL

Oh me too Bama, YAH's grandkids are growing up so fast and her grandson has the most mischievous smile LOL

Yes we did Bama.....and I love getting an email from you.

Glad you are still enjoying the Y's silver sneakers classes. I see you got 2 buddies to go with too...that's nice. Plus switching up on the centers too. That is also nice.

Glad the electric wasn't out long on Friday and hope your hubby did well in his golf tournament.

Hope you got done what you wanted too on Friday with hubby absent.

Well I am off to go do a quick mail check and then will give sleep another shot.

Hope you all had a nice weekend so far and your Sunday is a good one....hoping you get some "me time" in also on Sunday.

Happy Sunday,

Well all the pumpkin goodies have arrived at the stores. I love pumpkin even though most of it is probably artificial . We are having cooler weather here . Watching the weather station keep up on Hurricane Irma. It will go though Dothan but hopefully just rain and some wind , I think . Cooler here for sure up to the 70's which I love. The afternoons have been lovely weather wise.

Nothing else going on. Grandparents day or I think it is called Donuts with Granparents at Chloe's school so I will be going there but will have to skip the Y that day . No biggy , I can go to the Y another day . I'm just glad she called and ask me . As the other Gdaughter never even says Hi . I worry about that one . She will be playing basketball again this year but not the traveling team but her school team . It doesn't seem to have brought her out of her shyness as of yet . We are hoping that going to middle school etc will help .

A friend loaned me a John Grisham book . I have never read any of his so this should be ineresting . I believe it is called the Street Lawyer and Sue , I see that there is another Fern Michaels book out so I need to look for it . I haven't done any reading the whole summer but look forward to that one. I was trying to get all of the god-sisters books and had a good start until we moved here and had to leave them behind.

I hurt knee at the Y doing those walking lunges and have been sore for over 3 weeks been doing stretches and applying Aspercream cream to it and seem to be better but I won't be doing those anymore or at least when they do them in class I will be skipping them. I have never liked walking lunges even when I was much younger. LOL Trying to avoid the Doctors but may have to make an appointment . Giving it another week. As you can tell I am not high on going to the doctors.

Well time to move along . Enjoy your Sunday .

Happy Monday All!
Well we had showers on saturday but just a few. They waited until DH and I headed out for a bike ride to make themselves known. So we had to quick ride back home. Did get a nice ride in yesterday though. Oh I got so mad on sunday morning. I wanted to take out kayak on the river, but it is in the loft in the garage. Well I am just a bit too small to get it out by myself and that made me hopping mad. :x REALLY! I hate to rely on others for stuff. You would think I would be used to asking for help but oh no! Anyway it is monday and I did get 30 minute walk in over lunch time. :D

I hope you enjoyed time with Chloe Bama. :D

I hope you got some sleep last night Sue.

Hi ladies,

Bama, I don't like pumpkin at all....not pie or anything pumpkin. I know weird but then you already knew I was a "weirdo" LOL

poor grandma got major kudos for her pumpkin pie and she had two versions, one with and without Brandy and everyone loved her pumpkin pie.

That's alright as she also made cherry pie that I loved and added won Reddi Wip on it as I hated real whipped cream....yeah go figure. So I got Cherry pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas time she also made me a Boston cream pie plus a chocolate pie. I was in heaven when they came out with Cool Whip LOL

friend Wendy in Sacto would go to Baker's Square and get the chocolate silk pie which was to die for...so she'd always take me there for birthday lunch every year LOL

I see your weather has been rainy and windy too. Oh I am with you, love the 70s....won't see those till late October here.

Yes Grandparents day (they didn't have that when I was growing up LOL). Nice the school has something. So glad Chloe called and asked you too. HUGS on the other granddaughter. I hope she gets over her shyness soon too.

Sorry on the Godsisters books....I'd swear Amazon had them on Kindle and if memory serves me (can't count on that lately LOL) you have one and so you could get them for less?????

I have a friend who loves his book Bama....me not so much and same for hubby.

Yeah the new Fern Michaels book is Need To Know but Amazon only has it in Hardcover for $21.20 and in paperback for $7.99 in paperback but not until December 26th at Amazon. So I will have to wait. Plus I see there is a new Men of the Sisterhood out too....High Stakes...I will go check Alibris and see what they have used and see if I can get it. If not will wait and try again Christmas time.

I don't do the walking lunges at all Bama, as they hurt legs and have for years now....so I do side lunges and squats instead.

Might want to try the heating pad also with a strong aspirin (like Bufferin) or ibuprofen.

Hope you don't have to go to the doctors. Hope you had a nice Sunday.

Chris, oh no on the showers waiting for you and hubby to go for your bike ride. We swore this time of year they waited whenever we had a race weekend....all of us would growl and say to the sky "give us a break"...mind you luckily it happened on the oval track events so our Vettes performed well on those. Also helped we all had those thick heavy/duty high performance tires on our cars LOL

Glad you got a nice ride in yesterday. Sorry about the kayak....oh Chris I am with you I always hated that when I had to ask for help since I was not tall enough or arms or legs long enough to do something.

Infuriating. Yes I slept Sunday night into Monday very well.....however was still tuckered out on Monday...hit me harder than normal I guess. Plus Monday was not a good day for me....lost close friends and so many of places I been too, too many times not to have been effected, angry and I mean very very angry and upset. So never a good day for me....

Us too Chris, we are only going to 95 today and by Wednesday down to 90, then 86 Thursday and 83 on Friday and 88 on Saturday. Then next week they say low 80s, 83, 80 and 82....will wonders never cease.LOL

Well off to get some off line stuff done.

Wishing everyone a good rest of the week....tomorrow I go look for eye glasses, regular ones again since cataract surgery is disappeared and I need to be a 4 eyes again...no problem was most of life till the cataract surgery.

Wish me luck.

A good evening and rest of the week to all.

Hi all! just sneaking in here to wish you all a great week! We've been having really nice weather also Chris but I haven't done much with it. I hate to ask for help also and being short and all, if I can't get it by climbing on a step ladder, forget it:) And arms are still so short, can't do much that way either. Glad you get to walk in nice stuff and kayaking sounds like so much fun on a calm day.
Bama, nice to see you here and don't do those lunges. I never have and of course will not now with knees like they are:) Not going Drs. for anything more about them either. Got to look for those Nordic walking poles, see if they would help in walking? Although have to drive to get anywhere I'd feel like walking. Some kids just are quieter as I was:) cousin was more around people at their big run farm and so she was very loud or more quick to say hi and all:) We on our simple farm and not much to go on, we learned to keep quiet while adults talked:) Or take off to play in the woods. So I never really said Hi unless someone first said it etc. if they asked questions, I answered:) She'll grow out of it I'm sure. I always figured cousins were more popular somehow. course I didn't go for sports etc. either as too far to travel but I also didn't want to be in public like that so she got some guts there:) I hope your knee just gets better by you taking care of it? Guess there's another new Dr. also at our hospital from Toledo, Ohio. I forget, is that where you are?

Mo, I'm sure you are enjoying your DD's visit a lot! I sure enjoyed time with mom. I have no DD's but at least sons do understand and know me pretty good since we seemed to be more together while Dh traveled so much on his job etc. I'm just so sorry they couldn't learn too much from him.
How's Money doing these days?
Becky, hope your mom's book is turning out great or did you get it already? Hope your job is going well also?
Haven't heard too much from MN. but did start Kindergarten anyway and is home with mom for his time:) had more time before her DB came on the scene:) I know they are so glad the house sold so quick also to pay off the mortgage and all and they will rent for some time now.
Sue, hoping you keep getting some good sleeps and hope the Dr. when you go can help you with that also or itching or? Glad the AQ is getting a little better? So many fires all over it seems and then the hurricane's elsewhere:( I guess we get some snow here but none of the other stuff much. I think the AQ must be pretty good up here. Stray cat hasn't come yet but probably will soon since humane society place is closed for the day:( I sure hope to get it there soon. I'm sure colder weather is coming. Enjoying son's cat Misa and she's taken to sleeping with me on covers at least most of the night:) Warmer probably. Well you all enjoy the nice weather and I'm still getting in garage for some trampoline time while its still warm enough. Funny how the backs of legs get so achy doing that though? But I guess it means its working a bit:) take care now! :coffee: :sunshine:

Hi, all,

I was sad to take DD back to the airport early this morning. (Very early--she had a 6 a.m. flight, so we left home at 4! I usually get up at 5 so maybe 3:30 shouldn't have felt so bad, but dang! ) It was so nice to have her here. She went to book club with me on Friday night, and we went shopping on Monday, but other than that, we mostly worked on the kitchen. The old crackle-paint had to be painted with Citristrip and then scraped, then re-coated and scraped again, and then scrubbed down, primed and painted. We chose a very light tan, like coffee with a ton of cream; it goes well with the countertop. It was quite a job but we got it mostly done. I still have to paint the trim, but will do that Friday afternoon after work, or Sat. The blanding of the house continues! Pretty soon I'll have every bit of color and personality stripped out of it and then we'll be ready to list it!

Money's doing fine, thanks, YAH. He's big into swimming in the river these days--DH takes him to the park pretty much every day and he loves to retrieve sticks. So funny considering he used to be too afraid to get near the water! Eventually he would wade, and then just a few weeks ago started dog-paddling. :D It was great that the kids' house sold so quickly! I hope ours does, too. I'm glad you are getting in some time on the trampoline! Nice that you have Misa to sleep with. I miss having a cat on lap, but I'd be afraid to get one now with Money. I hope you can get the stray into the shelter where it can be adopted.

Glad you got glasses, Sue, and at a bargain price! Hugs on your 9/11 sadness.

Yay on all your walks, Chris! Bummer on the kayak. :( Maybe your DH can move it to where you can get it out yourself?

I hope Irma didn't affect your friends, Bama. Donuts with Grandparents Day sounds nice--did they have some nice pumpkin donuts for you?? I'm a pumpkin fan, too. I made some cookies (or, as DD would say, "what passes for cookies around here!") with pumpkin, oats, and pb last week; they were pretty good. I like to make a healthified pumpkin pie, too. I have read several Grisham books, some good, some not so much. I hope your knee is feeling better by now. I'm kind of surprised they have you doing walking lunges at the Y; those hurt left knee, too. I usually have people do reverse lunges instead--stepping back is much easier on the knees.

Hi, Bekah!

I'd better get moving here--after early morning, I'd like to get into bed early tonight to catch up on some sleep. :) I work tomorrow, and then go back later for a pt appointment, so it will be a busy day.

Sweet dreams, everyone!

Hi ladies,

YAH I am with you....I lost inches again so now I need to go buy a 3 step stool to reach certain things. Chuck will do some for me but he has shoulder issues (pain sore etc) so I don't like to have to ask him. He tells me to but I just know how much it hurts him.

Unfortunately gonna be a while as the 3 step stools are very pricey.....

While not super long arms are pretty good for some things....it's the body itself that is losing inches LOL

Yeah I am with you YAH lunges never one of favs, even when I was young and healthy I still like squats better. Plus a lot easier with a weight on shoulders and squatting.

Like yourself YAH knees don't like them either.

I was like you too YAH quiet and in fact when very young had imaginary friend too. Was still around when sister got older as she was "not nice" and I'd rather talk to imaginary friend (according to grandma and mom) than sister. They asked the doctor about it and he said it's very normal and not to say anything to upset me about it. So they didn't and let me be and told sister to leave me alone.

Same here YAH, when there were get togethers, the kids went off and left the adults to their doings LOL

Much easier when we went to NJ for our visits with aunts, uncles, cousins ( grandma had 24 brothers and sisters....so I had cousins galore.....real young under 3, then lots of 4, 5's, 6s, 7's and 8's) and even more 9's and older LOL

I did eventually YAH but still had only a limited amount of friends but had a lot of acquaintances (as mom and grandma called them). Even in HS I had 3 close friends and other friends, but just the "hi and hello and how ya doin' type" and if you saw them out you'd acknowledge them also. Many of which in later years I became closer too in college and groups of us went out to clubs etc.

Yes if memory is right....it's Ohio....but then it's on the fritz sometimes LOL

Thanks YAH yeah glad I am getting good sleep night also. Yes me too on the itching...plus after I see her next up is dermatologist and I hope between the two of them we can come up with something.

Yeah unfortunately fires when it's dry and so glad to see the rain but then we get thunder bumpers and lightning which started up some fires.....can't win.

Yes your AQ is probably great there....well let's see from what I saw when I searched it was 28 which is fantastic.....

Sorry on the stray cat....hope he can be saved by the HS......

Glad to hear Misa is enjoying herself so much.....you are a good mom!

Glad you are getting some trampoline time too.

Molasses, oh so sorry to hear your daughter is gone already and very early flight too I see. I see she went out and about with you and you also got some work done on the kitchen too....together. Sounds like you are doing a fabulous job and with al that work hoping when you list it goes quickly for you.

Oh Molasses, I am so glad that Money's enjoying the sticks and water so much. That's wonderful....you and your hubby are fabulous mom's and dad's.

Yes Molasses, really lucked out and the people were nice not with their noses' stuck up their patootie LOL

Thanks for the hugs......

I see a busy rest of the week for you and hope you get caught up on your sleep and I see a pt appointment too so a very busy day for you.

Hope you sleep well.

Wishing you all a good Wednesday night and rest of the week.

Hi All! :D
Yesterday, today and friday will only be the walks to and from work. Lunchtimes are a bit busy this week. I really love walking back and forth and had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. It is a calming way to start the day and end it as well. Once this goes back into a good habit I will have to start adding more good habits. I am trying to watch what I eat. I have office stocked with fresh fruit. Maybe for next week I will chop up veggies for the week.
Well I have to keep moving .

Afternoon,

Chris, glad you were able to get your walks in last week. Hoping lunch times slow down so you can go back to enjoying your walk then too after lunch. I agree, I love walking too....so going to be doing more of that especially with the cleaning time that is coming up....so this month's plan kind of went out the window when I got hurt and then sick last week. So walking only now....

Sounds like a great plan you have come up with the good habit and the eating too.

Wishing you the best and hoping today is going well too.

To all hope you had a nice weekend and same for this week.

Hope you all are having a nice weather week and doing good things too:) since I don't seem to be. Its nice sunny weather here anyway and did have a sauna yesterday at least and made a apple pie from apple tree also!! I don't bake much at all:) All small apples and I've been eating about 10 a day anyway on the side as I love them. So I'm getting some fiber I guess.
See the school bus now at almost 4 pm going down this street and on way back leaves off a little one whose parent or gparent comes across the main highway to get from this street:) Sure do miss that time of life.
Mo, bet your missing your DD a lot and wow, she even got to work with you on your kitchen etc.:) Probably hoping you can sell sooner then and get to live closer right?:)) Wish I had lived closer to mom but I got to see her a lot but a 2+ hr. drive up and back and used money I didn't have etc. so just took a lot of time to get caught up to that. But wouldn't trade it for anything;)
Sue, I sure hope you got good sleep last night and sorry its so cold in those stores too! Is it that hot outside or? Hope you get to open windows too for a bit with good air or as close to it as you can get? I do have the windows open today for sure. Will be soon and will be really closed up for cold:( Leaves are starting to change already especially the maple leaves. I like fall but hate to see the leaves go away:( Take it easy if your not feeling so good with the neck etc. hey? Glad you got your glasses also.
Chris, those walks sound so good:) I know at work, when I worked, they had a nice maybe 1/4 mile round loop in the woods for residents even to walk around and workers could also and I did walk more when I started there. And a bench to sit in the middle and pretend your elsewhere also:) It was a wook walkway but they changed it to cement now. I did like the wood on feet better though. Just wish I could go out the door and hobble walk down a road where no one is:( By the time I ever get walking sticks, it'll be winter I suppose. Not taking any chances of falling. I can trip over own feet in the house almost these days:( Keep up the walking though as it sure will help in the Long run:)
Bama, I know how one gets busy and I do hope your knee will get better with no big things having to happen for it to be better? At least you might have better hospitals there? take care and never do lunges:)
Becky, hope work is fine for you yet? Hows the book stuff going? I don't know all the things one goes through for that but you got a copy of it right? Hope you keep practicing on piano also and having some nice days there too:) take care all and enjoy, well its almost Fall, so enjoy it all:) :coffee: :sunshine:

Hello All and happy monday!
I have indeed been missing for a week. I had a very stressful week at work and did best not to take it home. I am hoping this week shows a vast improvement. I did get a few walks last week. Not sure how many though, it is a bit of a blur. On the weekend I got in practice session and then hit the road with a great bunch of gals and went camping. Great food, lots of chatting and campfires. We did one short hike. One of the gals is a certified yoga instructor and she led us through a yoga session overlooking the bay (ocean). I had never done yoga with others before but what we went through was similar to DVD. I enjoyed it. :D I am just eating lunch and then I am headed out for 30 minute walk. :thumb:
I hope you are all well.
