Looks like total body, also looks like a good way to wreck your back and knees.

i only looked at one video, but this guy looked like he had pretty good form:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpXqVba1mFo

i was taught that you want to:
>>let the bar slide down your legs a bit before pulling up
>>keep the bar close to your body (if it picks up your shirt as you pull it up, that's a good sign)
>>pull like it's an upright row and try not to use your back
>> and jump under the bar. a lot of people will drop their bodies down and split their legs either 1 in front and 1 in back or both to the sides (i prefer to the sides). don't spread them too far because you could lose your balance, but you really need to get under the bar because when you increase in weight, there's no way that you can pull that thing all the way up to your collarbone while flicking your wrists, let alone just getting the bar up that high.

pretty much everything you said is right about the form on top of that i allways concentrate on having fast elbows so the come up high and face directly ahead. Both moves are good but with the Clean from the floor i find better to use that within a full body programme however with the hang clean (start at the knees) i use this with lighter weight and concentrate on using shoulders and arms to lift the weight and i do this with shoulder workout. Im not into wrestling at all but friend showed me this its the rock in it he does a clean to press his form is pretty spot on..

Either way i love this exercise i find it hard to believe that shape fit have overlooked it.

On that video however he doesn't get his elbows anywhere near high enough thats because he is pressing the weight aswell and you cant use exactly the same technique check this girl out she has great form.

She does jump very high but thats because she is trying to shift a heavy weight and she does it very well i think.

it's a hip dominant exercise so that's where the first portion of the lift is coming from...don't focus on pulling with your arms...watch the chick's hips thrust up and forwards...that's what allows her to get her elbows up...there's no way you can upright row a clean wt so without the hip explosion, you won;t get your elbows up higher then your chest
